WCTA represents the turf management profession, which includes golf course superintendents, assistant superintendents, equipment technicians, municipalities, lawn care businesses, and others, in Western Canada, particularly in British Columbia.

In the past decade, much of its lobbying efforts have been directed towards preserving the golf industry’s pesticide ban exception status.
Unfortunately, WCTA often pays lip service to the importance of protecting this exception status, and has confined itself to basically sending ineffective letters to Health Canada, and pointless meet-and-greet with local government officials.
This is because NO ONE in WCTA has any expertise in matters concerning professional lobbying, hence, WCTA fails to make any correct decisions concerning this issue.
WCTA members are NOT being protected from harm by any effective lobbying campaign.
By comparison, Integrated Environmental Plant Management Association of Western Canada ( IEPMA ) has been MORE EFFECTIVE at lobbying than WCTA.

The clueless leaders of WCTA ignore the fact that federal and provincial officials are considering the imposition of prohibitions against ALL industries that use pest control products, including the golf industry.
The golf industry currently enjoys the benefits from an exception status despite the fact that it uses the very same ingredients employed by home-owners, professional lawn care businesses, and farmers.
Golf facilities use 6.0 per cent of all pest control products in Manitoba, a province within the jurisdiction of WCTA.
Some observers have commented that if golf facilities account for 6.0 per cent of the pest control products use, and feel they deserve an exception status, it should be pointed out that a residential home lawns only accounts for 0.00000001 per cent, and therefore is far more deserving of an exception status than they are.
Sadly, WCTA pays lip service to the importance of protecting the golf industry’s pesticide ban exception status.

IPM Council of Canada has enabled PCN’s anti-pesticide and golf-hating lunatжcs by granting them wholesale and unconstrained access to sensitive and potentially-harmful information about golf facilities in provinces like Ontario.

Under some provincial laws, like Ontario, golf facilities must submit annual reports on their use of pest control products ― these reports are known as IPM data.

WCTA fails to comprehend the threats posed by « activist-superintendents », also known as « snowflake-superintendents ».
British Columbia is the nation’s birth-place for these activists, which falls within the jurisdiction of WCTA.
Many observers believe that « activist-superintendents » represent the greatest threats to the golf industry today.

WCTA fails to make any correct decisions that would protect golf superintendents and their facilities.
As we all know that WCTA has squandered considerable resources in support of prohibition against pest control products used in the urban landscape.
It has refused to withdraw its support for prohibition.

It has also refused to denounce the Suzuki cancer-attacks as destructive anti-pesticide and science-hating fanatжcal lies against the golf industry.
It has even refused to complain about hacking-attacks against superintendents.
These acts jeopardize the golf superintendent profession.
Golf-hating fanatжcs are taking aim AGAINST the golf industry.
WCTA must confront ALL attacks against the golf industry.
WCTA must confront Suzuki by stating unequivocally that golf courses DO NOT cause cancer and DO NOT kill people.
Otherwise, it would be difficult to trust WCTA as a legitimate representative of professional golf course superintendents.
WCTA further jeopardizes the golf superintendent profession since it has refused to address ANY of the CRITICAL ISSUES facing the golf industry.
It even refuses to deal with the threat of « activist-superintendents ».
Superintendents and their facilities face some huge challenges because of their high degree of vulnerability concerning several public affairs issues concerning pest control products.
