Bee-keepers are absolutely wrong about insect-control products used by the agriculture industry !
The issue of the supposed deterioration of bee health from insecticide-coated seeds has created a hot debate that has caused serious rifts among farmers, seed companies, anti-pesticide bee-keepers, and enviro-lunatics.
According to false allegations from bee-keepers, bees are somehow being lost in great numbers because of insecticides.
This is a myth !
Historically, bee losses are nothing new since heavy losses have been reported in 1853, 1891, 1896, 1960s, 1975, 1998, 2000, and 2005.
In fact, the bee losses are very limited, and are infinitesimally small.
In 2012, a mere 42 bee-keepers alleged losses.
In 2013, only 74 bee-keepers alleged losses.
There are 7,000 bee-keepers keeping 600,000 colonies of honeybees across Canada.
Essentially, a mere 0.5 to 1.0 per cent of all bee-keepers are reporting losses.
These represent the anti-pesticide lunatic-bee-keepers of Canada.
Over 99 per cent of all bee-keepers are reporting NO losses.
In a blatant effort to find a scape-goat, the anti-pesticide lunatic-bee-keepers are attempting to blame the deterioration of bee health on insecticide-coated seeds used in the agriculture industry.
Insecticides are also being scape-goated as a ploy to distract the public and government officials from the real problems of bee-keepers, such as botulism, a paralytic illness that is fatal to infants.
Recently, government officials tested the terminally-affected bees, and found insecticide residues.
However, the mere ability to measure or detect the presence of an insecticide is not an indication that the substance poses any risk to bees, especially at the trace levels at which we can now detect them, which is in parts per trillion.
Although some residues were found, government officials need to consider that anti-pesticide lunatic-bee-keepers likely tampered with the samples provided for testing.
There was no legitimate chain of custody for the samples of bees.
Anti-pesticide lunatic-bee-keepers deliberately killed their bees with the malicious intent of coercing and intimidating government officials into prohibiting pest control products.
Government officials should further investigate as to why only an infinitesimally small number ( 0.5 to 1.0 per cent ) of bee-keepers have reported losses ?!?!
Government officials must investigate bee-keepers killing their own bees ( see later segment ).
According to Dan Davidson ―
It's no surprise to bee-keepers that their finding were about the same in 2013 as they were in 2012. [ ?!&! ]
As soon as everyone puts two and two together — these are systemic insecticides and they enter flowering plants through the soil and water. [ WRONG ! ]
In fact, Davidson has confirmed that, for two consecutive years, some bee-keepers may not be competent to handle their businesses, and may be wholly unsuited to be raising bees.
Davidson is the anti-pesticide president of the renegade Ontario Bee-Keepers Association ( a.k.a. Sierra Club ), and he has basterdized and maligned the use of the term systemic insecticide in order to serve his own nefarious purposes.
Ontario Bee-Keepers Association is a renegade trade association that operates as a shield for Sierra Club, a known anti-pesticide and environmental-terrorist organization.
In other words, Ontario Bee-Keepers Association does the anti-pesticide lunatic-dirty-work for Sierra Club.
Renegade bee-keeper trade associations, like Ontario Bee-Keepers Association, are controlled by Sierra Club lunatics.
Both Sierra Club and Ontario Bee-Keepers Association are non-expert lobbying organizations that interfere in partisan politics, and attempt to invalidate the scientific assessments of insecticides.
Sierra Club and Ontario Bee-Keepers Association have NO scientists and NO researchers, and have absolutely NO credibility and definitely NO competence in matters concerning pest control products.
Both Sierra Club and Ontario Bee-Keepers Association are demanding reckless prohibition against insecticide-coated seeds before the 2014 planting season.
However, Canadian Honey Council, representing bee-keepers ALL across Canada, actively opposes prohibition against insecticides, arguing that the harm to growers would be substantial, and that there will be no notable change in bee mortality.
According to Mark Wales ―
[ Anti-pesticide lunatic-bee-keepers ] are essentially demanding of the [ agriculture ] industry, proof of need.
That takes a fair amount of research and you can't do that in one season.
Wales is president of the Ontario Federation of Agriculture, an organization that has no political agenda, and whose members simply want to grow healthy food for Canadians.
Additionally, CropLife Canada has warned that Canadians would be impacted if the agriculture industry does not have access to tools like seed-treated insecticides.
CropLife Canada is the trade association representing manufacturers, developers and distributors of pest control products, including those designed specifically for the treatment of seeds.
The majority of corn planted in Canada is insecticide-coated with a modern class of insecticide called neonicotinoids.
The agriculture industry has been using this type of seed treatment for the past decade.
Insecticide-coated seed provides targeted protection against insects, and renders insecticides inaccessible and harmless and reduced risk to bees.
The agriculture industry also follows Best Management Practices.
When used properly by growers, with Best Management Practices, neonicotinoid insecticides cause no harm, and do not hurt bees.
Bee-keepers appear to be unable or unwilling to get their major pest problems under control, such as Varroa mites, leading observers to conclude that bee-keepers may not be competent to handle their businesses, and may be wholly unsuited to be raising bees.
Rather than focus their time and energy of REAL bee problems, such as Varroa mites, bee-keepers are squandering their time and resources by scape-goating neonicotinoid insecticides.
They would rather focus on the conspiracy to recklessly prohibit pest control products.
Moreover, when bee-keepers are unable to keep their bees alive, they resort to becoming bee-rustlers, and steal from other bee-keepers.
Bee-keepers resort to the use of untested, illegal, and unregistered pest control products, like Amitraz, which is also a potential human carcinogen.
The fact that bee deaths are occurring is a testament to the fact that some bee-keepers do not know what they are doing, or have deliberately killed their own bees in a blatant attempt to extort money from government, growers, and manufacturers.
Bee-keepers are not competent to raise bees.
Bee-keepers are harming bees, and not neonicotinoid insecticides.
