In 2008, David Suzuki Foundation was coordinating alliances with other like-minded organizations.
If there was a leader of the anti-pesticide & environmental-terrorist movement in Canada, it had to be Suzuki.
The objectives of the Suzuki alliances was to coerce, intimidate, and influence government at all levels with the concoction of false-facts and junk science against conventional pest control products.
The Suzuki alliances were used in order to give an unsuspecting public the false and fraudulent impression that the environmental and anti-pesticide movement had considerable size and power, when in fact, it DOES NOT.
In fact, several organizations allied with Suzuki were basically operated as one-in-the-same group.

Strengthening Amendments To Bill 64 [ Ontario Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act ]

The David Suzuki Foundation recommends important amendments Bill 64, the Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act, 2008, to :
• Retain municipal authorities to regulate pesticide use;
• CONSTRAIN THE EXCEPTIONS provided for in section 2 of the bill.

In addition, the bill as drafted authorizes EXCEPTIONS FOR GOLF COURSES and « other prescribed uses » ― TROUBLING LOOP-HOLES that could be exploited to undermine the intent of the legislation.
These clauses should be REMOVED OR TIGHTLY CONSTRAINED.
EXEMPTIONS should be allowed only when necessary to protect public health and safety and this power is separately authorized in the bill.
RECOMMENDATION :
The David Suzuki Foundation urges the Committee amend Bill 64 by :
1. Striking the clause in section 2 of the bill that would render municipal pesticide bylaws inoperative ( subsection 7.1 ( 5 ) of the Pesticides Act );
2. STRIKING THE EXCEPTION FOR « USES RELATED TO GOLF COURSES » in section 2 of the bill (subsection 7.1.2, paragraph 1) ― or introducing a sunset clause so that this exception is not permanent;

[ Ontario’s Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act ] Bill 64 also includes a permanent EXEMPTION FOR GOLF COURSES; whereas the City of Toronto pesticide by-law extends in principle to GOLF COURSES ( although this restriction is not currently being enforced ).

Secondly, the bill authorizes EXEMPTIONS that suggest TROUBLING LOOP-HOLES.
The EXEMPTIONS FOR GOLF COURSES and « other prescribed uses » SHOULD BE REMOVED, or at a minimum tightly constrained.
While we recognize that GOLF COURSES face particular challenges in eliminating pesticides, a permanent, LEGISLATED EXEMPTION FOR GOLF COURSES IS NOT WARRANTED and is inconsistent with the intent of the bill.
GOLF COURSES are responsible for a significant volume of urban pesticide use and this use is clearly « cosmetic » as defined in the bill ― i.e. non-essential.
There are at least TWO PESTICIDE-FREE GOLF COURSES [ ?!?! ] operating in Canada at present : Fiddlers’ Green in Nova Scotia and Blackburn Meadows on Saltspring Island, British Columbia. [ These golf facilities are now bankrupt, closed, and⁄or gone. ]
We see no reason why Ontario operators could not follow in the footsteps of these INDUSTRY LEADERS [ ?!?! ] and conform to similar standards to reduce their environmental impact.
To the extent that GOLF COURSES require special consideration, this should take the form of a « grace period », with a specified expiry date by which compliance with the ban must be achieved.
This would give the [ GOLF ] INDUSTRY time to adapt and transition, while being consistent with the intent of the legislation to minimize unnecessary environmental and health risks associated with pesticide use.

Summary ―
In 2008, David Suzuki Foundation used false-facts and junk science to coerce, intimidate, alarm, and enrage the public into believing that nation-wide anti-pesticide prohibition was somehow necessary.
Suzuki even despicably exploited children as weapons of coercion and ultimate terror in order to promote prohibition.
Prohibition that is imposed under the pretext of protecting children’s health is WRONG !
Pest control products are scientifically-safe, will cause NO harm, and are NO threat to children.
Excerpts ―
Another report, published by my foundation, showed that more than 6,000 cases of acute pesticide poisoning occur in Canada each year.
Even more frightening, half of those poisonings involve children under six.
Despite the clear evidence against chemical pesticides, more than 30 per cent of Canadians with gardens still use them.
But there is evidence that this practice may be coming to an end.
Many cities have passed bylaws banning the use of these lawn and garden pesticides.
We can look forward to the day when a neighbour applying these chemicals to their yards will seem as out-of-place as a smoker lighting up a cigarette on a transatlantic flight.
That day may be just around the corner ― at least in some parts of Canada.
In 2003, Quebec banned the use and sale of many lawn pesticides.
Now the Ontario government is proposing similar legislation.
The Government of PEI also recently held hearings on a potential province-wide ban.
Provincial action is important, because while cities and towns can restrict the use of these chemicals on public and private property, provincial governments have the power to ban the sale of cosmetic pesticides.
Pulling the prohibited products from store shelves is the best way to make sure they aren’t used.
Excerpts from 2007 ― Suzuki’s Northern Exposure – Acute Poisonings In Canada ―
Many of these chemicals are linked to cancers such as Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which has increased by 73 per cent in the U.S. since 1973. [ ?!?! ]
A 1987 study published in the U.S. Journal of the National Cancer Institute reported that children whose parents commonly used pesticides in their homes and gardens were seven times more likely to get leukemia. [ ?!?! ]

SUZUKI IS MISSING THE POINT !
There is not one known case of harm from the proper application of diluted pest control products by qualified & licensed professionals.
This is because diluted products are tens of thousands of times less toxic than concentrated products.
For decades, the professional lawn care industry has advocated that using its services is significantly less harmful for children than do-it-yourself lawn care.
Overall, pest control products used in the urban landscape are only harmful when the concentrated form is improperly stored in the home.
It must be recognized that when home-owners retain the services of qualified & licensed professionals, who apply only diluted products, the risk of harming children is greatly reduced.
Conversely, do-it-yourself home-owners who apply these products must store them in the home in a concentrated form.
When these products are stored improperly in the home, children will be harmed.
It must also be noted that Health Canada, EPA, and other science-based regulatory agencies have assessed these products as less harmful than Aspirin, baking soda, caffeine, cannabis, nicotine, table salt, and Tylenol.
Moreover, these products are no more harmful than ethanol ( an edible beverage constituent in beer, wine, and other intoxicating beverages ), mouthwash ( Listerine ), and vitamin C.
Pest control products used in the urban landscape will cause NO harm because they are government-approved, federally-legal, scientifically-safe, and practically-non-toxic.

Dr Katherine T von Stackelberg is among several LEADING EXPERTS who have recognized expertise, training, and background in matters concerning pest control products.
In 2012, Dr Katherine T von Stackelberg conducted a study to determine whether there was any validity to the suggestion from some epidemiologic studies that 2,4-D may be associated with an increased risk of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma ( NHL ), Hodgkin’s disease, leukemia, and soft tissue sarcoma.
According to Dr von Stackelberg, the combined evidence indicates it is highly implausible that exposure to 2,4-D and/or MCPA are associated with a risk of developing non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma ( NHL ) or other lymphohematopoietic cancers.
The von Stackelberg toxicological studies in rodents show no evidence of carcinogenicity, and regulatory agencies world-wide consider chlorophenoxies like 2,4-D as not likely to be carcinogenic or unclassifiable as to carcinogenicity.
Leading scientific experts like Dr Katherine T von Stackelberg say they would NOT hesitate to let their children play on a lawn where lawn care products have been used as long as the products were applied according to label directions.
Dr Leonard Ritter is also among several LEADING EXPERTS who have recognized expertise, training, and background in matters concerning pest control products.
According to Dr Ritter, Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma ( NHL ) rates, the cancer most often associated with pest control products, are LOWER in many of the jurisdictions that he examined.

Suzuki & Equiterre Conspired To Further Bolster Quebec Prohibition In 2008
Summary ―
In 2008, David Suzuki Foundation remained unsatiated about the extent of prohibition in the Province of Quebec.
In fact, Suzuki wanted the 2003-2006 provincial prohibition expanded. In the period 2003 to 2006, Quebec became the first provincial jurisdiction to impose prohibition against pest control products used in the urban landscape.
This prohibition was implemented under the Pesticide Management Code, over a three-year period, in force since April 3rd, 2003, and implemented on April 3rd, 2006.
On April 3rd, 2004, the Government of Quebec proceeded with the first stage of its prohibition against 20 active ingredients used by businesses operating in the professional lawn care industry.
Consequently, because of the imposition of the 2003-2006 provincial prohibition in Quebec, over 70 per cent of the businesses were annihilated, and hundreds of businesses disappeared into total oblivion.
Prohibition had destroyed the professional lawn care industry in Quebec.
And, Suzuki wanted even more destruction !
According to non-expert Suzuki-fanatics, Quebec’s anti-pesticide prohibition needed to be updated to include new products, as well as products overlooked by the government since 2006.
Suzuki, and its Quebec ambassador Equiterre, produced a document entitled Pesticide Free ? Oui ! – An Analysis of Quebec’s Pesticides Management Code, which suggested areas of improvement to bolster the Quebec prohibition and its implementation.

SUZUKI AND EQUITERRE ARE BASICALLY ONE-IN-THE-SAME GROUP !
Equiterre and David Suzuki Foundation basically operate as one-in-the-same group.
Equiterre is an anti-pesticide & environmental-fanatic organization that is VERY CLOSELY ALLIED with David Suzuki Foundation.
According to observers, in 1992-1993, Equiterre was established as an ambassador and public policy shield organization for David Suzuki Foundation in the province of Quebec.
Suzuki and Equiterre are both basically one-in-the-same group that even operate out of the same location in Montreal.
Where did Equiterre originate from ?!?!
In 2001, when anti-pesticide prohibition in the town of Hudson was challenged before the Supreme Court of Canada, Ecojustice Canada provided legal counsel for Nature-Action Quebec ( an early version of Equiterre ), as well as Federation of Canadian Municipalities ( managed by some of the same fanatics who now run New Democratic Party of Canada ( NDP ) ), and World Wildlife Fund ( WWF, whose key members now manage Liberal Government of Canada ).
Where is Equiterre located ?!?!
Equiterre’s office is located in Montreal, in the Centre for Sustainable Development, which officially opened its doors on October 6th, 2011, and is home to eight environmental and social fanatical organizations, including Equiterre, and COINCIDENTALLY, David Suzuki Foundation.
The Centre for Sustainable Development is collectively owned by the organizations that occupy the building, including the Quebec headquarters for the David Suzuki Foundation and Amnesty International.
Equiterre and Suzuki own the same office building.
They operate in tandem on several public policy issues.
Quite often, their names are used interchangeably.
They regularly issue media releases together in an attempt to deceive the public into believing that they are separate and distinct.
Staff from both organizations work together, eat together, get drunk together, and perhaps even have intimate relations together. 🙂
In essence, Equiterre and Suzuki operate as one-in-the-same group.
Both organizations should stop pretending that they are independent of one another !

Suzuki Conspired To Legislate Ontario Prohibition In 2008
Summary ―
In 2008, the Government of Ontario legislated its Cosmetic Pesticides Ban Act, which was imposed 2009.
David Suzuki Foundation was a principal partisan architect with the Ontario McGuinty Government in conspiring to impose this prohibition against conventional pest control products used in the urban landscape.
Because of David Suzuki’s illegal interference in partisan politics and public policy, Ontario have a trail of catastrophic business losses with hundreds of small businesses destroyed and thousands of people out of work.
Because of the imposition of the 2009 provincial prohibition in Ontario, businesses operating in the professional lawn care industry lost over 500,000,000 dollars, with over 12,500 unemployed.
One-business-per-week disappeared into total oblivion, and, by 2012, half the businesses had closed their doors.
Prohibition had destroyed the professional lawn care industry in Ontario.

For many years, public scrutiny of golf course maintenance practices, as well as a perceived success of the pesticide-free organic industry, have forced some golf clubs to re-think the use of synthetic fertilizers and conventional pest control products.
However, the golf course industry is now facing a new challenge from golf-hating & anti-pesticide fanatics … the so-called pesticide-free or organic golf course.
Golf-hating fanatics, like David Suzuki, are falsely-alleging that pesticide-free has become a major trend in the golf industry.
There are approximately two thousand golf courses across Canada.
There are three, yes THREE, known so-called organic golf courses in Canada.
Blackburn Meadows Golf Club, Brigadoon Golf Course, and Fiddler’s Green Golf Course. ( See next segments. )
Two of these golf facilities are now bankrupt, closed, and⁄or gone.
One facility may actually be lying about being pesticide-free.
Pesticide-free golf maintenance is impossible, and can only lead to catastrophic playing conditions and business failures.
These types of courses often DO NOT have high-end playing conditions, which are inadequate for paying players.
There will be a lot of unhappy golfers, and bankrupt golf businesses, if the golf industry goes pesticide-free.
