On August 9th, 2011, the Government of Alberta stated that it WOULD NOT CREATE RESTRICTIONS OR LAWS THAT CONFLICT WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, that is relied upon for health and safety assessments of pest control products.

According to Pallister ―
Beware of a detonation of dandelions.
Pallister said that’s what will happen if Conservation and Water Stewardship Minister Gord Mackintosh pushes ahead with his RADICAL AGENDA TO BAN COSMETIC LAWN PESTICIDES.
Pallister said since Ontario brought in its ban in April 2009, lawns, parks and sports playing fields HAVE EXPLODED IN DANDELIONS and have been ABANDONED BY PARENTS AND CHILDREN.
According to Pallister ―
Young people, athletes of various ages, shapes and sizes aren't engaging in physical activity because ( fields ) have been infested by weeds.
The result is MORE THAN 100 WEED-INFESTED FIELDS IN ONTARIO HAVE BEEN RIPPED UP AND REPLACED WITH COSTLY ARTIFICIAL TURF, Pallister said.
According to Pallister ―
Once they’re taken over by weeds they’re NOT ATTRACTIVE.
But that’s not the point.
THEY’RE NOT SAFE PLAYING SURFACES.
They’re not friendly to the user.
I’m concerned as a parent that we make sure that there’s some balance here and that we don’t do something in our province that would make it harder for our families and our young people to enjoy the facilities that we have.
Anti-Pesticide Minister Mackintosh called Pallister’s allegation is pure fear-mongering. [ ?!?! ]
Mackintosh’s party, the New Democratic Party ( NDP ), operates as the POLITICAL SHIELD for Anti-Pesticide and Environmental-Terrorist Organizations.
The Professional Lawn Care Industry is opposed to the restrictions, saying the products they use to control weeds are all approved by Health Canada.

Who wants this #@!!% BAN NONSENSE ?!?!
Polls indicate the PUBLIC DOES NOT WANT PESTICIDE BANS.
According to a recent poll in Manitoba, the PUBLIC REJECTS PROHIBITION.
A MAJORITY OF MANITOBANS DO NOT WANT PROHIBITION.
The government will have to pry their weed-killers out of their cold, dead hands.
Moreover, if/when PROHIBITION is IMPOSED in Manitoba, THE PUBLIC WILL LOSE ITS VALUED RESIDENTIAL AND PUBLIC GREEN SPACES.
Without pesticides, Green Spaces will turn into DANGEROUS AND PEST INFESTED GARBAGE DUMPS.
If/when PROHIBITION is IMPOSED in Manitoba, HAZARDOUS SLIPPING AND TRIPPING CONDITIONS in sports turf will THREATEN CHILDREN with serious injuries.
Furthermore, other provinces in Western Canada will NOT PROHIBIT pest control products.
For example, in 2011, the Government of Alberta stopped the trend towards needless, senseless, and malicious prohibition.
More recently, British Columbia’s Special Committee On Cosmetic Pesticides announced that it will not recommend prohibition against the use of pest control products in the urban landscape.
In fact, there is a REAL TREND AGAINST PESTICIDE BANS throughout North America, with dozens of jurisdictions that have STOPPED or RESCINDED or LIMITED ANTI-PESTICIDE PROHIBITION, or have GRANTED BUSINESSES AN EXCEPTION STATUS.
Until October 1st, 2012, Manitoba ran a MOCK ON-LINE CONSULTATION DONE IN BAD FAITH under the PRETENSE of gauging citizens’ views on the PROHIBITION against pest control products used in the Urban Landscape.
PROHIBITION in Manitoba IS NOT NECESSARY since pest control products are HEALTH-CANADA-APPROVED, FEDERALLY-LEGAL, PRACTICALLY-NON-TOXIC, SCIENTIFICALLY-SAFE, and CAUSE NO HARM.
As reported through Health Canada’s VAST TOXICOLOGY DATABASE, scientific research shows that NO HARM WILL OCCUR to health and environment when pest control products are used properly.
If/when PROHIBITION is IMPOSED in Manitoba, Government Officials will have done so in DEFIANCE of Health Canada’s SCIENTIFIC ASSESSMENTS proving that pest control products are SCIENTIFICALLY-SAFE … ASSESSMENTS that can take up to TEN YEARS and COST HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS OF DOLLARS.
The Government of Manitoba WILL NOT SPEND ANY MONEY on ANY SCIENTIFIC ASSESSMENT of pest control products.
This is because NO ONE within the Government of Manitoba has ANY recognized training, background, or experience in pest control products.
The Government of Manitoba prefers to somehow rely upon Non-Expert Anti-Pesticide Lunatics who have been PERPETUATING NOTHING BUT MYTHS regarding the need for PROHIBITION in Manitoba.
Health Canada, and NOT Manitoba, has THE ESSENTIAL EXPERTISE on the subject of pest control products.
