Despicably Using Children As Weapons Of Anti-Pesticide & Environmental Terror
No Smoking Gun On Pesticides

Re: B.C. Premier Bitten By Pest Problem, B.C.
The editorial on cosmetic pesticides written by Tom Fletcher skates around the body of medical and scientific evidence linking these toxins to such illnesses as childhood leukemia and Parkinson’s disease.
In his words, the “right thing to do” is to do nothing about cosmetic pesticides.
I imagine if he were living in the ’60s, he would be arguing that the Vietnam War was the right thing to do, or in the ’70s that concern over the nuclear arms race was merely “political”.
The problem with cosmetic pesticides, like DDT or cigarettes, is that there is no smoking gun.
It is going to take time to convince some people that pouring poison on their lawn could harm their children.
In the case of Fletcher, I think it will take a lifetime. I pity his children.

COMMENTS
Jim McMurtry is WRONG !
Children Are NOT At Risk !
The safety assessments of pest control products by Pest Management Regulatory Agency of Heath Canada ( PMRA ) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ) DO take children into consideration.
These assessments DO consider children’s physiology, behaviours, and habits while playing on treated grass.
Moreover, there are NO valid reports of pest control product problems with children.
In fact, MEDICATION is the leading cause of poisoning in children.
Anti-Pesticide Activists ALLEGE that children are somehow MORE vulnerable to pest control products.
This is a MYTH !
Anti-Pesticide Activists like McMurtry are DESPICABLE in their use of CHILDREN as WEAPONS OF COERCION and ULTIMATE TERROR in order to promote Anti-Pesticide PROHIBITION and Organic Food.
PESTICIDE BANS are imposed under the PRETEXT of protecting children’s health is WRONG !
In fact, WITH PESTICIDE BANS, children are actually AT HIGH RISK of TRIPPING and becoming SERIOUSLY HURT.
Pest control products PREVENT slipping injuries on sports turf.
PESTICIDE BANS create HAZARDOUS SLIPPING CONDITIONS in sports turf.
Furthermore, the Public REJECTS PROHIBITION in B.C. and in Ontario.
In the so-called War Against Weeds, what would happen if British Columbia adopted a Provincial Pesticide Ban ?
Pesticide Bans result in CATASTROPHIC CARNAGE caused by BAN FAILURES, BUSINESS FAILURES, GARBAGE DUMP GREEN SPACES, and STUNNINGLY EXORBITANT COSTS.
WHO CAN AFFORD THIS #@!!% BAN NONSENSE ?!?!
