Consultation on the Guidelines for the Registration of Non-Conventional Pest Control Products, Regulatory Proposal PRO2010-06
The Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) invites the public to submit written comments on Regulatory Proposal PRO2010-06, Guidelines for the Registration of Non Conventional Pest Control Products. This proposal is being distributed for information and comments. Regulatory Proposal PRO2010-06 is a consultation document outlining a regulatory approach for non-conventional products with favourable risk profiles that is based on innovative and flexible approaches to assessing whether they have value and whether they pose any unacceptable risks to human health or the environment. This Regulatory Proposal replaces Regulatory Proposal PRO2007-02, Guidelines for the Registration of Low-Risk Biochemicals and Non-Conventional Pesticides, which has been piloted since its release. The PMRA will accept written comments from the public on the proposal up to 60 days of publication of this document.

Health Canada will make the results of this consultation available on this Web site. Once the decision on Regulatory Proposal PRO2010-06, Guidelines for the Registration of Non Conventional Pest Control Products is finalized, the PMRA will post a Regulatory Directive on the Pesticides and Pest Management Reports and Publications portion of Health Canada’s website.
