A Manitoba-based Anti-Pesticide & Environmental-Terrorist Organization says it is MOCK-DISAPPOINTED that Brian Pallister’s Government is REVIEWING the newly-implemented PROHIBITION against pest control products used in the Urban Landscape. ( i.e. COSMETIC PESTICIDE BAN )
« We regret that this is being opened up for discussion again, » said Pesticide-Hating Fanatic Karen Peters, of the Manitoba Eco-Network, adding that the current pest control product restrictions were beneficial to Manitobans. [ WRONG ! ]
« We think the existing law was protecting vulnerable people, children, pregnant people and animals, » said Fanatic Peters. [ WRONG ! ]
NORAHG Response
LAWNS ARE SAFER FOR CHILDREN WHEN PESTICIDES ARE USED !
MYTHS ABOUT PESTICIDES ! ― Concerns about the use of pest control products stem from Non-Expert Non-Scientific Pesticide-Hating Fanatics. Any prohibition against pest control products is NOT justified because strict regulations based on scientific research already protect our children, our health, and our environment. SAYING YES TO PESTICIDES WILL MAKE LAWNS SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND WILL PROTECT THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT !
https://pesticidetruths.com/toc/myth-busting-prohibition/
CHILDREN ARE SAFE WITH PESTICIDES ! ― Pest control products represent NO threat to children since they are scientifically-safe and will cause NO harm. There is NO need for screeching-fanatics to recklessly conspire to impose arbitrary prohibition against pest control products used in the urban landscape. Leading scientific experts, like Dr Katherine von Stackelberg, say they would NOT hesitate to let their children play on a lawn where lawn care products have been used as long as the products were applied according to label directions. http://tinyurl.com/mw2fu7u According to another leading expert, Dr James S Bus, there is NO evidence that common lawn herbicides like 2,4-D cause cancer or any health problems in children. Dr Bus has also stated that there is NO regulatory agency in the world that regards pest control products like 2,4-D as a threat to children’s health. http://wp.me/p1jq40-7W0 According to yet another leading expert, Mr William Jordan, Deputy Director, Office of Pesticide Programs, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ( EPA ), parents DO NOT need to worry as long as a pest control product is used correctly. The EPA has spent a lot of time looking at products like 2,4-D, and has concluded that it is safe for kids. http://tinyurl.com/pe6x3h9 Allegations by screeching-fanatics about the imaginary danger to children are totally false, and are untrue mis-representations merely designed to alarm and enrage the public. SAYING YES TO PESTICIDES WILL MAKE LAWNS SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND WILL PROTECT THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT !
CHILDREN ARE IN DANGER WITHOUT PESTICIDES ! ― Any form of prohibition actually harms children and represents a danger to children ! Because of prohibition, children are forced to play in #@!!% dangerous and pest-infested garbage dumps ! http://wp.me/P1jq40-44g http://wp.me/P1jq40-4z3 http://wp.me/p1jq40-7C4 In essence, children are at risk from dangerous playing surfaces which are created by #@!!% pesticide PROHIBITIONs ! For example, in Hamilton, Ontario, children cannot play on the grass because of the proliferation of weeds. http://tinyurl.com/qh5e7ve In jurisdictions like Wallingford, Connecticut, there is a fear of litigation with pesticide-free playing surfaces. Clovers and dandelions have been attracting bees … what if children get stung and what if they are allergic ?!?! http://tinyurl.com/o6tx843 Clover attracts bees that can harm children and control people. Clover attracts killer bees. For people who are allergic to bee stings, a sting may trigger a dangerous anaphylactic reaction that is potentially deadly. Additionally, honey bee stings will release pheromones that prompt other nearby bees to attack. NO ONE wants this #@!!% dangerous PROHIBITION nonsense that places children at risk ! SAYING YES TO PESTICIDES WILL MAKE LAWNS SAFE FOR CHILDREN AND WILL PROTECT THE URBAN ENVIRONMENT !
PRODUCTS LIKE GLYPHOSATE HERBICIDE WILL NOT CAUSE CANCER ! ― On May 16th, 2016, the United Nations DISCREDITED the IARC Anti-Glyphosate Hazard Report with the assessments that Glyphosate is UNLIKELY to cause cancer in people and that Glyphosate is UNLIKELY to pose a carcinogenic risk to humans exposed to it through food ! These United Nations assessments may seemingly appear to contradict the Anti-Glyphosate Hazard Report by International Agency for Research on Cancer ( IARC ). But, THEY DO NOT ! IARC only REVIEWs those published studies that may identify potential cancer HAZARDS. IARC does NOT identify RISKS ! The United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization ( FAO ) and World Health Organization ( WHO ) have looked at ALL pertinent published and unpublished studies to assess the health RISK to consumers from dietary exposure to glyphosate residues in food. Glyphosate WILL NOT cause harm and WILL NOT cause cancer !
Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox issued a call on July 18th, 2016, for public feedback on the PESTICIDE BAN, which PROHIBITS certain ingredients that control weeds on lawns and around sidewalks, schools, and hospitals.
The legislation came into effect under the previous Anti-Pesticide NDP Government in 2015.
At the time, then Pesticide-Hating Fanatic-Minister of Conservation and Water Stewardship Gord Mackintosh said synthetic pest control products POSE A RISK TO HUMAN LIFE, ESPECIALLY AMONG CHILDREN. [ WRONG ! ]
While in opposition, Progressive Conservative Leader Brian Pallister urged the Selinger Government to RECONSIDER the COSMETIC PESTICIDE BAN.
Within weeks of taking office, the Progressive Conservative Government said IT WAS OPEN TO REVIEWING THE LEGISLATION.
The Government is now gathering information that would be used in such a REVIEW.
Minister Cox said in a press release that she « wants to hear from Manitobans about their experiences » with the regulations.
« The purpose of the legislation is to reduce the exposure of people and pets to herbicides used in lawn care for non-essential or cosmetic purposes, » Minister Cox said in the press release.
« We are committed to finding the right balance between protecting the environment, minimizing the impact, and providing usable, aesthetic green spaces in our communities. »
In 2015 the World Health Organization listed glyphosate, a key ingredient in Roundup as a probable carcinogen. [ WRONG ! ]
However, its toxicity to humans is still a hotly debated matter. [ ?!?! ]
NORAHG Response
WE CAN ALL BREATHE A SIGH OF RELIEF SINCE ROUNDUP WILL NOT CAUSE CANCER !
UNITED NATIONS DISCREDITS IARC ANTI-GLYPHOSATE HAZARD REPORT !
On May 16th, 2016, the United Nations DISCREDITED the IARC Anti-Glyphosate Hazard Report with the assessments that GLYPHOSATE IS UNLIKELY TO CAUSE CANCER IN PEOPLE and that GLYPHOSATE IS UNLIKELY TO POSE A CARCINOGENIC RISK TO HUMANS EXPOSED TO IT THROUGH FOOD ! THE TRENDS AGAINST PESTICIDE BANS AND RESTRICTIONS ARE RELENTLESS AND UNCEASING. NO ONE WANTS THIS #@!!% NONSENSE !
The IARC Anti-Glyphosate Hazard Report was distorted, biased, and unbalanced pesticide-hating fanaticism ! On the basis of this report, IARC misled the public to falsely-conclude that glyphosate somehow causes cancer. [ ?!?! ] National government regulators world-wide have scientifically-concluded that glyphosate WILL NOT cause cancer, and yet ONLY IARC alleges it probably causes cancer. [ ?!?! ] On March 20th, 2015, IARC arbitrarily classified the herbicide glyphosate, the active ingredient in Roundup, as « probably carcinogenic » on the basis of « limited evidence » of cancer among humans. International Agency for Research on Cancer ( IARC ) ridiculously implied that its false-conclusion against glyphosate was somehow being withheld from U.S. Environmental Protection Agency ( US EPA ), German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment, Health Canada, and every other science-based national regulatory agency in the world. According to these agencies, the weight of evidence is against carcinogenicity. The selection of literature for REVIEW by IARC was distorted, biased, and unbalanced since it deliberately cherry-picked the most atypically negative reports in order to arrive at a false-conclusion with its pesticide-hating agenda. IARC had conveniently disregarded dozens of scientific studies that have scientific-concluded that glyphosate WILL NOT cause cancer ! The pesticide-hating IARC has been discredited ! Moreover, IARC DID NOT evaluate actual RISK when using glyphosate, and based its false-conclusion on what is called HAZARD. The IARC Anti-Glyphosate Hazard Report COULD NOT conclude that there is a cancer RISK with glyphosate. HAZARD does not imply RISK ! National regulatory agencies, like EPA and Health Canada, actually evaluate RISK. Conversely, IARC merely looked at HAZARD, and DID NOT look at RISK. IARC DID NOT take into consideration how much of or how commonly a RISK glyphosate poses in the real world. The IARC Anti-Glyphosate Hazard Report can hardly be considered as ground-breaking since the World Health Organization ( WHO ) has basically ignored IARC’s false-conclusion. If the IARC Anti-Glyphosate Hazard Report was truly valid, then why didn’t WHO itself demand more national government regulation around the world ?!?! Why should national regulatory agencies listen to IARC when it was ignored by WHO ?!?! In fact, glyphosate WILL NOT cause harm and WILL NOT cause cancer ! It is clear that IARC had a pesticide-hating agenda against glyphosate for reasons of mere fanaticism and politicized science. The IARC can no longer be trusted !

The provincial Government wants Manitobans to weigh in on the COSMETIC PESTICIDE BAN against ingredients used to control weeds growing in lawns.
On July 18th, 2016, an online survey was made public for people to give their experiences with the Non-Essential Use of Pesticides Regulation passed in 2015 by Anti-Pesticide NDP Government.
The announcement was made through a press release July 18th, 2016, morning by the Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox.
Manitobans are being asked to weigh in on the COSMETIC PESTICIDE BAN against ingredients used to control weeds growing in lawns.
Pesticide-Hating Fanatic Anne Lindsey operates Cosmetic Pesticide Ban Manitoba, an Anti-Pesticide & Environmental-Terrorist Organization.
Fanatic Lindsey said the REVIEW isn’t surprising because the Conservatives voted AGAINST it passing it in 2015.
« I’m [ mock ] concerned that they might want to relax some of the regulations because by no means is Manitoba’s the strongest regulation in Canada, » Fanatic Anne Lindsey said, « it is not bad, but it is not the best so if they relax it, it means we are going backwards. » [ ?!?! ]
But others like Mr Dave Hinton, whose business operates in the Professional Lawn Care Industry, are happy the REVIEW is happening.
Since the PROHIBITION, Mr Hinton’s business, Weed Man Lawn Care, CAN ONLY USE ONE PRODUCT CALLED FIESTA.
Mr Hinton said Fiesta is MORE EXPENSIVE AND LESS EFFECTIVE than the products available to lawn care specialists and homeowners before.
« The cost is about 10 TIMES what it used to be. So if you used to spend about $50 at the big box store on weed control, now to do the same job it about $500, » said Mr Hinton.
Mr Chris Goertzen, president of the Association of Manitoba Municipalities ( AMM ), said he has asked the Government for the REVIEW after MANY MUNICIPALITIES HAVE HAD A DIFFICULT TIME KEEPING UP SERVICES IN PUBLIC GREEN SPACES.
Mr Goertzen said AMM would like to see a balanced solution that has both practicality and regulation.
The province’s survey on the legislation is open until September 12th, 2016.
Submissions can be e-mailed, or you can respond through an on-line survey.

AMM Welcomes Pesticide Ban Input

Selected And Adapted Excerpts
The President of Association of Manitoba Municipalities says AMM welcomes the PESTICIDE BAN REVIEW announced by the province.
The provincial Government announced July 18th, 2016, it is seeking submissions from Manitobans regarding the PROHIBITION against pest control products for cosmetic use.
« It is welcome to hear that the province is going to REVIEW this regulation, » says Chris Mr Goertzen of Steinbach.
« Obviously municipalities have been asking this for a number of years. »
Mr Goertzen says under existing restrictions, it is EXTREMELY COSTLY for municipalities to attempt to control weeds.
Mr Goertzen says it COSTS TEN TIMES AS MUCH, now that the PROHIBITION is in place.
« So a municipality that was spending let’s say fifteen thousand dollars, would be spending upwards of one hundred fifty thousand or more dollars, » explains Mr Goertzen.
« IT IS JUST NOT DOABLE, IT IS NOT PRACTICAL, and we want to find a solution that’s not only good for our communities but is also affordable. »
That means, municipal councils are left with the DECISION of whether TO INCREASE THEIR WEED CONTROL BUDGETS or TO STOP WITH WEED CONTROL in certain areas of the municipality.
« I’m looking forward to seeing the regulation REVIEWED, come up with a practical solution that will be good for all Manitobans, » Mr Goertzen says.
Mr Goertzen notes AMM will be making a submission and he invites municipalities and Manitobans to do the same.
Manitobans can e-mail submissions, or respond through an on-line survey, until September 12th, 2016 …

Cosmetic Pesticide Ban Reconsidered In Manitoba

Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox Says The Province Will CONSULT With Manitobans About Legislation That PROHIBITS Against The Use Of Pest Control Products On Lawns And Public Green Spaces, Including Schools, Day Cares And Playing Fields.
Manitoba may be RE-THINKING ITS PROHIBITION against the cosmetic use of pest control products.
Sustainable Development Minister Cathy Cox said the province would CONSULT with Manitobans about legislation that PROHIBITS the use of pest control products on lawns and public green spaces, including schools, day cares and playing fields.
« The purpose of the legislation is to reduce the exposure of people and pets to herbicides used in lawn care for non-essential or cosmetic purposes, » Minister Cox said.
« We are committed to finding the right balance between protecting the environment, minimizing the impact and providing usable, aesthetic green spaces in our communities. »
The former NDP Government passed a COSMETIC PESTICIDE BAN in 2014, claiming it would « protect children from the risks of chemical lawn pest control products » and prevent « some of our most vulnerable populations, especially children, from getting sick. » [ WRONG ! ]
NORAHG Response
EVERYONE IS MISSING THE POINT !
PESTICIDES ARE ONLY DANGEROUS WHEN THE CONCENTRATED FORM IS STORED IN THE HOME !
Pest control products used in the Urban Landscape are SO SAFE that they have even been registered by Health Canada for Do-It-Yourself Lawn Care. EPA, Health Canada, and other science-based regulatory agencies have clearly demonstrated that many of these products are LESS TOXIC THAN Aspirin, baking soda, caffeine, cannabis, nicotine, table salt, and Tylenol. For example, Roundup is NO MORE TOXIC THAN ethanol ( an edible beverage constituent in beer, wine, and other intoxicating beverages ), mouthwash ( Listerine ), and Vitamin C. However, it must be recognized that when residents use Qualified & Licensed Professional Applicators, THE RISK OF POISONING CHILDREN IS FURTHER REDUCED since the CONCENTRATED form of pest control products is NOT STORED IN THE HOME. For decades, the Professional Lawn Care Industry has advocated that using its services is SAFER FOR CHILDREN than Do-It-Yourself Lawn Care. Obviously, the industry’s Qualified & Licensed Professional Applicators apply pest control products in a DILUTE form. Conversely, Do-It-Yourself Homeowners who apply these same products themselves must STORE THEM IN THE HOME in a CONCENTRATED form. It is the STORAGE of these products in the home that lead to the POISONING OF CHILDREN. However, there is NOT ONE KNOWN CASE OF POISONING from the proper use of pest control products by Qualified & Licensed Professional Applicators. Furthermore, DILUTED products are tens of thousands of times LESS TOXIC than CONCENTRATED products.
The risk assessment of conventional pest control products indicates that they are scientifically-safe, and, when used properly, will NOT cause harm to children, people, animals, or the environment.
Reports Concerning Conventional Pest Control Products ―

The ANTI-PESTICIDE LEGISLATION AND PESTICIDE-HATING GOVERNMENT RHETORIC against pest control products ANGERED AGRICULTURAL GROUPS in the province.
In a 2014 letter to the province, Manitoba Beef Producers said a PROHIBITION SUGGESTS THAT AGRICULTURAL PESTICIDES ARE A THREAT TO HUMAN HEALTH. [ !!!! ]
« MBP ( Manitoba Beef Producers ) has concerns regarding the ARTIFICIAL DISTINCTION being made between so-called COSMETIC USE OF PESTICIDES and AGRICULTURAL USE … WE DO NOT BELIEVE THAT PRODUCTS CAN BE CONSIDERED SAFE IN ONE ENVIRONMENT AND TOXIC IN ANOTHER. It is our view that this DISTINCTION between different uses of products sends an UNFORTUNATE ( AND ULTIMATELY DANGEROUS ) MIXED MESSAGE to the public at large. »
Manitobans can e-mail their comments, or respond to an online survey at …

The Government is accepting comments until September 12th, 2016.

MANITOBA’S NEW PALLISTER GOVERNMENT WILL RESCIND PROHIBITION ?!?!
Have Manitobans been forced to live in the 17-year NDP reign of anti-pest control product terrorism ?!?! YES ! For example, on June 28th, 2013, Manitoba’s Lunatic NDP Government IMPOSED ARBITRARY PROHIBITION against conventional pest control products used in the Urban Landscape. http://wp.me/p1jq40-6RM http://wp.me/p1jq40-6Rj New Democratic Party ( NDP ) operates as the POLITICAL SHIELD for Anti-Pest control product and Environmental-Terrorist Organizations. http://wp.me/p1jq40-8Yb With the 2013 Provincial Prohibition, were municipal governments and home-owners BETRAYED by Manitoba’s Lunatic NDP Government ?!?! YES ! Fortunately, on April 19th, 2016, the Pest control product-Hating Lunatic New Democratic Party ( NDP ) was DEFEATED by the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba, led by Brian Pallister, ending the 17-year NDP reign of anti-pest control product terrorism ! OBSERVERS EXPECT THAT THE PALLISTER GOVERNMENT WILL RESCIND PROHIBITION IN MANITOBA ! http://wp.me/p1jq40-9zz
STUNNINGLY EXORBITANT COSTS INFLICTED AGAINST MANITOBA’S URBAN LANDSCAPES ― Are Manitobans witnessing the DISMAL DESTRUCTION OF SAFE TURF PLAYING SURFACES ?!?! YES ! Manitoba’s 2013 Provincial Prohibition DESTROYED public and residential green spaces by turning them into GARBAGE DUMPS. It is IMPOSSIBLE to control damaging pests of turf and ornamentals without conventional pest control products. Here is a summary of garbage dump green spaces inflicted by Manitoba’s 2013 Provincial Prohibition … • children at high risk of tripping and becoming seriously hurt • dandelions the dominant ground cover • dead mature street trees • hazardous slipping conditions in sports turf • invasive noxious weeds like Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed • lawns decimated by insects like white grubs • lawns in entire neighborhoods ruined by pests • parks infested with weeds • rose plantations dying and removed. This is the #@!!% PROHIBITION CARNAGE that Manitoba is suffering. Can Manitoba’s municipal governments and home-owners afford the hardship and cost of this #@!!% PROHIBITION nonsense ?!?! NO ! OBSERVERS EXPECT THAT THE PALLISTER GOVERNMENT WILL RESCIND PROHIBITION IN MANITOBA !
STUNNINGLY EXORBITANT COSTS INFLICTED AGAINST MANITOBANS BECAUSE OF INFERIOR AND HAZARDOUS ALTERNATIVES ― In 2013, Manitoba’s NDP Political Leaders, like Gord Mackintosh, ATTEMPTED TO FALSELY REASSURE THE PUBLIC that so-called safe and effective Green Alternative Pest control products were/are already available to replace conventional pest control products. [ WRONG ! ] Mackintosh even had a bottle of Fiesta on the table in front of him during PRESS CONFERENCES. http://wp.me/P1jq40-1JQ By 2016, Manitobans have been FORCED TO RELY on Green Alternatives like Fiesta ( a.k.a. Weed-B-Gon ), and have LOST their Green Spaces. In fact, the vast majority of users OVERWHELMINGLY CONDEMN Fiesta. http://wp.me/p1jq40-6ej Because of Manitoba’s 2013 Provincial Prohibition against conventional products like Killex, Manitobans are being arbitrarily forced to rely on INFERIOR AND MORE HAZARDOUS Green Alternative Pest control products like Fiesta. Fiesta cannot be considered safer when compared to Killex. Fiesta requires more personal protection, such as eye-wear, as well as waterproof gloves. By comparison, Killex requires coveralls over a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, chemical-resistant gloves, socks and shoes, but NO eye-wear. The whole truth about Fiesta can be explored at the following links … http://wp.me/P1jq40-1JQ http://wp.me/P1jq40-41t http://wp.me/P1jq40-80R http://wp.me/p1jq40-6ej Are Manitoba’s municipal governments and home-owners now living in the 17-year NDP reign of anti-pest control product terrorism ?!?! YES ! OBSERVERS EXPECT THAT THE PALLISTER GOVERNMENT WILL RESCIND PROHIBITION IN MANITOBA !
MANITOBA MUST JOIN THE REAL TRENDS AGAINST PROHIBITION ― Do Manitobans deserve to have PROHIBITION RESCINDED ?!?! YES ! There are dozens of jurisdictions that have STOPPED or RESCINDED or LIMITED or BEGUN TO REPEAL PROHIBITIONS and RESTRICTIONS, or granted Professional Lawn Care businesses with an EXCEPTION STATUS. Here are examples where there are REAL TRENDS AGAINST PESTICIDE BANS ― • Alberta ( Province ) • Altona ( Manitoba ) • Ashland ( Oregon ) • Beaumont ( Alberta ) • Belleville ( Ontario ) • British Columbia ( Province ) • Calgary ( Alberta ) • Campbell River ( British Columbia ) • Chicago ( Illinois ) • Deer Lake ( Newfoundland ) • Durango ( Colorado ) • Edmonton ( Alberta ) • Everett ( Washington ) • Guelph ( Ontario ) • Guelph-Eramosa ( Ontario ) • Hudson ( Quebec ― Existing Prohibition Morally Invalidated Since Several Government Officials Who Were Responsible For Prohibition Are Now Facing Charges Of Fraud, Corruption, & Tax-Evasion ) • Kamloops ( British Columbia ) • Kauaʻi County ( Hawaiʻi ) • Kelowna ( British Columbia ) • Merritt ( British Columbia ) • New Brunswick ( Province ) • Newfoundland ( Province ) • Ogunquit ( Maine ) • Ontario ( Proposed Provincial Prohibition Against Neonicotinoid Insecticides Stopped ) • Ontario ( Province, Proposed Amendment To Ontario Pest control product PROHIBITION, Beginning To Repeal Ontario Anti-Pest control product Prohibition ) • Parksville ( British Columbia ) • Port Alberni ( British Columbia ) • Portage La Prairie ( Manitoba ) • Quebec ( Imposed Provincial Prohibition Limited With Permitted Active Ingredients, And Also Invalidated Because Prohibition Defeated By Lawsuit ) • Regina ( Saskatchewan ) • Rossland ( British Columbia ) • Saint John’s ( Newfoundland & Labrador ) • Saint Josephine ( Oregon ) • Salmon Arm ( British Columbia ) • Scarborough ( Maine ) • Steinbach ( Manitoba ) • Stratford ( Prince Edward Island ) • Stuartburn ( Manitoba ) • Summerside ( Prince Edward Island ) • Vernon ( British Columbia ) • Winkler ( Manitoba ) • United Kingdom ( Suspended Fanatical European Union Prohibition Against Neonicotinoid Insecticides ) • USA ( A Vast Majority Of States Have Legislated Pre-Emption Laws, Virtually All Proposed Prohibitions Stopped ). The trends against prohibitions continue. No one can afford this #@!!% nonsense ! The public does not want prohibitions. http://wp.me/P1jq40-2rr http://wp.me/P1jq40-2bo OBSERVERS EXPECT THAT THE PALLISTER GOVERNMENT WILL RESCIND PROHIBITION IN MANITOBA !
