Resident Fined $2,000 For Pesticide Violations
Newmarket – A resident was fined $2,000 for illegally offering to sell pesticides.
“Environmental protection legislation protects communities and the environment. Breaking these rules can result in serious penalties and is an offence the Ministry takes very seriously,” Environment Minister Jim Bradley.
Douglas B. Blackburn is a resident of Whitchurch–Stouffville. The ministry obtained information indicating that Mr. Blackburn was offering to sell pesticides when he was not authorized to do so. Mr. Blackburn was also responsible for storing a pesticide without proper authorization.
Mr. Blackburn was fined a total of $2,000 plus victim fine surcharges of $250 and was given 30 days to pay the fines.
