GOOD NEWS FOR KINGSTON'S GREEN MANUFACTURING SECTOR.
CENTENNIAL GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY IS EXPANDING — BRINGING MORE JOBS TO THE LIMESTONE CITY.
THE SOLAR PANEL MANUFACTURER OPENED IN JANUARY AND IS ALREADY DOUBLING ITS WORKFORCE — WITH HELP FROM THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT.

CENTENNIAL GLOBAL TECHNOLOGIES HAS RECEIVED A 600 THOUSAND DOLLAR GRANT FROM THE MCGUINTY GOVERNMENT TO HELP FUND A SIX MILLION DOLLAR EXPANSION OF ITS THE FACILITY LOCATED OFF DALTON AVENUE.

"THIS IS ALL GOOD FOR OUR AREA, IT'S GOOD FOR OUR ECONOMY."
MPP JOHN GERRETSEN WAS ON HAND FOR THE ANNOUNCEMENT AND A TOUR OF THE FACTORY.
AS THE FORMER ENVIRONMENT MINISTER HE SAYS EXPANDING THE AREA'S GREEN ENERGY SECTOR IS IMPERATIVE AT A TIME WHEN THE INDUSTRY IS THRIVING.

"THE EASTERN ONTARIO DEVELOPMENT FUND HAS HELPED 11 KINGSTON COMPANIES CREATE OVER 200 JOBS OVER THE LAST THREE YEARS RANGING FROM THE FIRE BOATS BEING BUILT AT MEDAL CRAFT MARINE, THE COMPOSTING AT NORTERRA OR THE SOLAR PANELS THAT ARE BEING BUILT AT CENTENNIAL GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY."

"WE KNOW ABOUT WIND POWER AND WE KNOW ABOUT SOLAR POWER, AND THIS IS REALLY TO EXPAND AND BUILD THE SOLAR POWER BASE HERE IN EASTERN ONTARIO."
CENTENNIAL PRESIDENT AND C-E-O, AJOY DAS ESTIMATES SALES OF ABOUT 30 MILLION DOLLARS IN SALES PER YEAR.
CURRENTLY THE COMPANY SHIPS IT'S PRODUCTS ACROSS CANADA AND TO BRAZIL — BUT THE NEW EXPANSION WILL HELP IT TAKE AN EVEN LARGER PIECE OF THE INTERNATIONAL MARKET.

THE SOLAR ENERGY ASSOCIATION OF CANADA ESTIMATES THAT SOLAR ENERGY PRODUCTION WILL INCREASE BY 40 PERCENT ANNUALLY IN THE COMING YEARS.
AND WITH THOSE PROJECTIONS STAKEHOLDERS EXPECT BUSINESS AT CENTENNIAL GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY WILL TRIPLE BY THE END OF THIS SUMMER.
