The golf industry is on a collision course with golf-hating politicians and activists who want to obliterate all golf facilities

The Mayor of Kingston, MARK GERRETSEN, is considering SHUTTING DOWN the city’s public Golf Facility to make room for a SOLAR FARM or a PARK SPACE.

The Mayor comes from a family of ANTI-PESTICIDE POLITICIANS AND ACTIVISTS who have already ANNIHILATED the Professional Lawn Care Industry in Ontario.

The Golf Facility’s PESTICIDE EXCEPTION STATUS WILL EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 31ST, 2017, and the Mayor is NOT expected to EXTEND THE EXCEPTION STATUS.

Without pest control products, the Golf Facility will be UNABLE to provide ADEQUATE PLAYING CONDITIONS for its customers, and will become a GARBAGE DUMP.

Its customers will be DRIVEN AWAY.

The Imminent Demise of Belle Park Fairways Golf Course

BELLE PARK FAIRWAYS GOLF COURSE is on the CHOPPING BLOCK.

It is a Municipal 9-Hole Golf Facility owned and operated by City of Kingston in the Province of Ontario.

The Mayor of Kingston, MARK GERRETSEN, is considering SHUTTING DOWN the Golf Facility to make room for a SOLAR FARM or a PARK SPACE.

On December 13th, 2007, Kingston IMPOSED a PROHIBITION against pest control products used in the Urban Landscape.

A LIMITED PESTICIDE EXCEPTION STATUS was provided to Belle Park ―

On a GOLF COURSE or lawn bowling green ONLY UNTIL DECEMBER 31, 2017, provided that :

i. The GOLF COURSE or lawn bowling green existed as of the date this By-law was passed; and

ii. After January 1, 2009, any Pesticide is applied by or under the direction of an I.P.M. Accredited Agent.

For purposes of this section, a GOLF COURSE or bowling green may apply Pesticides until January 1, 2009 without an I.P.M. Accredited Agent provided that the Pesticide is applied in accordance with I.P.M. management practices and provided that the applicator has made application for I.P.M.

It is now common-knowledge that it is IMPOSSIBLE for a Golf Facility to keep its property playable and beautiful WITHOUT the use of pest control products, and Integrated Pest Management ( IPM ) is a DISMAL FAILURE.

Since the GOLF EXCEPTION STATUS WILL EXPIRE ON DECEMBER 31ST, 2017, Belle Park will be UNABLE to provide ADEQUATE PLAYING CONDITIONS for its customers.

It will DEGRADE INTO LOW-END PLAYING and GARBAGE DUMP CONDITIONS, and its customers will be DRIVEN AWAY.

The Mayor is aware of this situation, but is NOT expected to EXTEND THE EXCEPTION STATUS, and WILL NOT allow the Golf Facility to use pest control products beyond 2017.

Why ?

Because the Mayor comes from a family of ANTI-PESTICIDE POLITICIANS AND ACTIVISTS who have already ANNIHILATED the Professional Lawn Care Industry in Ontario.

In June 2012, during a discussion about ways in which Kingston could reduce taxes, Gerretsen remarked that THE CITY-OWNED GOLF COURSE COULD BE CONVERTED INTO A PARK AND SOLAR POWER FACILITY.

Many who play at Belle Park ― nicknamed THE DUMP because it was built atop a former landfill site ― do so because they cannot afford to play elsewhere.

The 6,000-yard, 100-member Golf Facility is a MONEY-LOSING VENTURE for Kingston.

In 2011, Belle Park saw revenues of 214,000 dollars, but had expenses totalling 374,000 dollars, leaving a deficit of 160,000 dollars.

According to Mayor Mark Gerretsen ―

Belle Park does tremendous things for 100 people or so, but, at the end of the day, we would be better off buying those 100 people memberships at another golf course.

Gerretsen said he would be interested in using the land for something that would benefit thousands of residents rather than 100.

Other cities, including Winnipeg and Kitchener, have been taking a look recently at whether they will keep their city-owned Golf Facilities.

Belle Park Golf Course Is DOOMED !

The Golf Industry is on a COLLISION COURSE with ANTI-PESTICIDE GOLF-HATING POLITICIANS AND ACTIVISTS who WANT TO OBLITERATE ALL GOLF FACILITIES.

The Mayor of Kingston is the SON OF JOHN GERRETSEN, who WAS the Enviro-Lunatic Minister of the Environment who IMPOSED the NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS CONSPIRACY to PROHIBIT against pest control products in the Province of Ontario.

This was achieved with strategies of CONCOCTED FEAR-MONGERING, THREATS, MIS-CONCEPTIONS, TERROR, FRAUDULENT LIES, COERCION, DECEPTIONS, and PARANOID CONSPIRACIES.

The same concocted strategies were subsequently used AGAINST the FERTILIZER INDUSTRY with ECO-FEES.

Because of a PESTICIDE BAN IN ONTARIO, the Professional Lawn Care Industry LOST OVER 500,000,000 DOLLARS, with UP TO 12,500 UNEMPLOYED.

In ONTARIO, ONE-COMPANY-PER-WEEK DISAPPEARS INTO TOTAL OBLIVION.

There were serious issues with Gerretsen, who was INDISCREET with his close public ties with Anti-Pesticide Terrorists, who became his PARTY PALS, raising the question about RADICAL SUBVERSION influencing government.

On August 18th, 2009, John Gerretsen was DEMOTED, DUMPED FROM CABINET, and PUT OUT TO PASTURE.

Gerretsen was DUMPED primarily because he presided over the ECO-FEE FIASCO that was hugely embarrassing to the Government of Ontario.

The ECO-FEES, levied on certain household products, were designed to fund a program that kept certain hazardous materials out of the landfill.

Gerretsen was widely criticized for the ECO-FEES, as well as the NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS PROHIBITION against pest control products that are, in fact, HEALTH-CANADA-APPROVED and SCIENTIFICALLY SAFE.

ECO-FEES and PROHIBITION also guaranteed safe, secure, and well-paying jobs for greedy and avaricious Government Officials who worked in Gerretsen’s ministry.

After a MASSIVE PUBLIC UPROAR, Gerretsen BACK-TRACKED AND DROPPED THE ECO-FEES.

Consequently, Gerretsen was PUT OUT TO PASTURE WHERE HE COULD DO THE LEAST HARM ― in the Ministry of Consumer Services.

Ostensibly, GERRETSEN’S SON IS ALSO AN ANTI-PESTICIDE ENVIRO-LUNATIC, and will decide the FATE of the Kingston-owned BELLE PARK GOLF COURSE.

Clearly, BELLE PARK IS DOOMED !
