Ontario Pesticide Ban Based Upon Junk Science
You win some you lose some.
Ted Chudleigh is disappointed his Private Member’s Bill aimed at LOOSENING THE RULES AROUND ONTARIO’S CONTROVERSIAL COSMETIC PESTICIDE BAN was defeated at Queens Park on May 31st, 2012.
That doesn’t mean he won’t fight on.
Chudleigh is a Progressive Conservative Member of Provincial Parliament ( MPP )
Chudleigh knows the Ontario PESTICIDE BAN is a polemic subject, and will now push for the Progressive Conservative Party to make it an ELECTION ISSUE.
According to Chudleigh, his Private Member’s Bill was a reflection of what many home-owners have been asking themselves since pest control products were BANNED by Ontario’s Liberal government in 2009 ―
Just how hazardous are pest control products to human health, and does it warrant such sweeping prohibition on using them ?

OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review
In 2004, Ontario College of Family Physicians ( OCFP ) CONCOCTED an Anti-Pesticide Literature Review.
This review was used as a PRETEXT by the Government of Ontario for the NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS PROHIBITION against pest control products used in the Urban Landscape.
Like many others, Chudleigh believes the review that prompted the ban was based on « junk science ».
Chudleigh argues there is LITTLE SCIENTIFIC PROOF that using pest control products can lead to health problems.
According to Chudleigh ―
It is frustrating that GOOD SCIENCE HAS BEEN CONQUERED BY JUNK SCIENCE.
The physicians … I don’t think their area of expertise extends to the use of pesticides.
I’d like a doctor to look after me in his office, NOT ON MY LAWN.
Chudleigh’s Private Member’s Bill would have AMENDED the Pesticides Act to ALLOW LAWN-CARE PROFESSIONALS to apply some currently-banned products to lawns and gardens.
Chudleigh is far from alone in his criticism of the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review ― the review was CLEARLY BIASED since it was a CHERRY-PICKING of a mere 100 references out of the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS AVAILABLE IN THE EXTENSIVE HEALTH CANADA TOXICOLOGY DATABASE.

United Kingdom’s Advisory Panel on Pesticides
The United Kingdom’s Advisory Panel on Pesticides, a governmental regulatory body, cited « serious flaws » with the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review.
It cited points such as « failure » to take into account studies with results running contrary to OCFP, and examining exposure to pest control products in agricultural areas ― where they are allowed, and regularly used ― instead of domestic, urban areas.
Additionally, Health Canada stated that the « OCFP report is a review of epidemiology studies selected from the public scientific literature », and that it LACKED SUFFICIENT SCIENTIFIC DATA.
Crop Life Canada
Pierre Petelle is Vice-President of Chemistry at Crop Life Canada.
According to Petelle, Ontario’s PESTICIDE BAN was NOT BASED ON SCIENCE, but on a POLITICAL AGENDA −
This was an IDEOLOGICAL, POLITICALLY-MOTIVATED DECISION that PLAYED ON PEOPLE’S FEARS and LACK OF SCIENTIFIC KNOWLEDGE.
A recent poll that found 78 PER CENT OF ONTARIANS feel the current legal methods of weed and insect control are INADEQUATE,
The poll also found that ALMOST HALF OF ONTARIANS BELIEVE THAT COMMERCIAL PESTICIDES ARE SAFE provided directions are followed.
According to Petelle ―
The consequences are coming to light in the urban sector, on home-owners’ properties, sports fields and municipal areas.
In other words, the Ontario PESTICIDE BAN DESTROYED PUBLIC AND RESIDENTIAL GREEN SPACES by turning them into GARBAGE DUMPS.
Petelle added that the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review NEGLECTED TO LOOK AT TOXICOLOGY DATA to back up its findings.
According to Petelle ―
Even Health Canada … looked at [ the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review ], and said THERE WAS NOTHING IN [ IT ] THAT WARRANTED FURTHER REGULATORY ACTION, that it was A SELECTIVE GATHERING OF STUDIES, and that it DIDN’T REPRESENT THE BODY OF SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE they rely on.

British Columbia
Ontario is not the only province where there is debate around pesticide use.
British Columbia Premier Christie Clark has been hankering for a ban there, but an all-party committee on pesticides said on May 17th, 2012, that, after considering more than 8,000 submissions, THERE LACKS ENOUGH SCIENTIFIC EVIDENCE TO WARRANT A BAN.

Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment
Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment is a FUND-RAISING, LOBBYING, and PROFIT-SEEKING organization, and NOT a science, research, health, or physicians' organization.
The VAST MAJORITY of CAPE members ARE NOT EVEN PHYSICIANS.
In fact, CAPE represents an INFINITESIMALLY SMALL number of doctors.
CAPE merely represents LESS THAN 4 PER CENT of all doctors in Canada.
In fact, CAPE functions as a PUBLIC POLICY SHIELD for Green Party of Canada and Canadian Cancer Society.
Several CAPE-Lunatics also operate Ontario College of Family Physicians ( OCFP ).
A small number of Anti-Pesticide Lunatics operate SEVERAL organizations, like CAPE and OCFP, in order to give an unsuspecting public the FALSE and FRAUDULENT impression that they has considerable size and power, when in fact, they DO NOT.
CAPE-Lunatics FALSELY ALLEGE that they NEVER EXCLUDED references when CONCOCTING the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review. [ ?!?! ]
According to one CAPE-Lunatic, Cathy Vakil ―
It is COMPUTER-DRIVEN. You plug in the key words, and it spews out … collections of studies in a completely unbiased way. [ ?!?! ]
ORGANIZATION – CANADIAN ASSOCIATION OF PHYSICIANS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT – GLOATING, TREACHEROUS, AND REPUGNANT ( Web-Page )
What Did OCFP Use As Its Reference Sources ?
What did Vakil mean with the term « computer-driven » ?
GOOGLE and WIKIPEDIA.
Big Whoop !
In other words, the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review was conducted with a standard that was NO BETTER THAN A GRADE SCHOOL PROJECT PREPARED BY A 10-YEAR-OLD STUDENT.
Additionally, the review was CLEARLY BIASED since it was a CHERRY-PICKING OF A MERE 100 REFERENCES out of the HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS AVAILABLE IN THE EXTENSIVE HEALTH CANADA TOXICOLOGY DATABASE.
2,4-D alone has been the subject of over 40,000 STUDIES.
According to another CAPE-Lunatic, Gideon Forman, the science behind the OCFP review is SUPPOSEDLY strong. [ ?!?! ]
Additionally, Forman BASICALLY ADMITS THAT the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review is BOGUS.
According to Forman ―
But let’s say it wasn’t. Why would you want to take the risk ? Why would you take that risk, when the only thing you are changing is the appearance of your lawn ?

Weak Epidemiological Studies
The OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review was NEEDLESSLY ALARMIST with its ALLEGATIONS that pest control products MAY be the cause of certain types of cancer.
Unfortunately, the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review DID NOT consider all of the relevant epidemiology evidence.
What is not explained in the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review is that the « evidence » against pest control products consists of some epidemiological studies showing a WEAK ( in most cases, a VERY WEAK ) link between some pest control products and cancer.
The best method for assessing risks to human health is the examination of ANIMAL TOXICITY DATA from internationally-accepted guideline studies, which OCFP DID NOT DO.
Toxicology Database
Moreover, OCFP DID NOT avail itself to the EXTENSIVE TOXICOLOGY DATABASE that is available from Health Canada.
Unfortunately, this database is NOT DIRECTLY AVAILABLE TO OUTSIDE GROUPS like OCFP.
OCFP never even bothered to request to look at the TOXICOLOGY DATABASE through a process that Health Canada refers to as The Reading Room.
The authors and reviewers of the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review were not only SCIENTIFICALLY IGNORANT, they were also LAZY AND STUPID.
Ted Chudleigh was CORRECT ―
The physicians … I don’t think their area of expertise extends to the use of pesticides.
I’d like a doctor to look after me in his office, NOT ON MY LAWN.
Ontario College of Family Physicians
In 2004, Ontario College of Family Physicians ( OCFP ) CONCOCTED an Anti-Pesticide Literature Review.
OCFP is a DISCREDITED, RADICAL, and SCIENTIFICALLY IGNORANT Anti-Pesticide Organization.
OCFP is a MERE TRADE ASSOCIATION, and it is NOT a science, research, or health organization.
It is INDIRECTLY OPERATED as a PUBLIC INFORMATION SHIELD by Canadian Cancer Society and Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment.
These organizations are presently UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR CHARITY FRAUD AND CONSPIRACY.
The OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review was BOGUS, BIASED, DISGRACEFUL, FALSE, INARGUABLY DISCREDITED, MISLEADING, and SUBVERSIVE, and has ABSOLUTELY NO CREDIBILITY in the legitimate scientific community.
It has been DISCREDITED, DEBUNKED, and REFUTED by Health Canada and by The Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution.
OCFP DID NOT conduct a serious scientific study … it conducted a mere Literature Review, and could only use those references found in the OPEN PUBLIC LITERATURE.
What did OCFP use as its reference sources ?
Moreover, OCFP CONVENIENTLY IGNORED the expertise of ALL LEADING AUTHORITIES on matters concerning pest control products.
The following educational, regulatory, research, scientific, and trade agencies have SUPPORTED or VALIDATED the concept that pest control products are SCIENTIFICALLY-SAFE ―
● American Chemical Society
● American Council for Science and Health
● American Cancer Society
● Canadian Medical Association
● CropLife Canada
● Health Canada
● Institute of Public Affairs
● International Agency for Research on Cancer
● Ontario Pesticides Advisory Committee
● The Fraser Institute
● U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
● World Health Organization
These agencies are certainly MORE CREDIBLE than GOOGLE and WIKIPEDIA.
These agencies are INDISPUTABLY MORE CREDIBLE THAN OCFP.
OCFP was NOT even in « The Information Loop » on issues regarding pest control products, and did not avail itself of the EXTENSIVE TOXICOLOGY DATABASE from Health Canada.
OCFP NEVER EVEN BOTHERED to request to look at the TOXICOLOGY DATBASE through a process that Health Canada refers to as The Reading Room.
The authors and reviewers of the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature were not only SCIENTIFICALLY IGNORANT, they were LAZY and STUPID.
Internationally, the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review has been viewed as …
● INADEQUATELY ADDRESSING THE ISSUES
● INCONSISTENT
● OVER-INTERPRETING STUDIES
● SUPERFICIAL IN ITS APPROACH
● UNCLEAR
● WEAK QUALITY.
The OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review has ABSOLUTELY NO CREDIBILITY since NONE of its authors and reviewers has ANY recognized expertise, training or background in matters concerning pest control products
Among the authors and reviewers of the review, there were …
● doctors who were FOUND GUILTY OF PROFESSIONAL MIS-CONDUCT OVER SEXUAL ACTIVITIES,
● doctors whose LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED, and
● doctors who DENY HAVING REVIEWED FOR OCFP.
There is a « growing body of evidence » that some the authors and reviewers of the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review were UNETHICAL, UNPROFESSIONAL, and even CRIMINAL.
Consequently, the Anti-Pesticide Literature Review is INARGUABLY DISCREDITED.
This review has been used a PRETEXT for the NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS PROHIBITION against pest control products used in the Urban Landscape.
Nonetheless, the OCFP Anti-Pesticide Literature Review continues to be DISCREDITED, DEBUNKED, and REFUTED by governments and the public.
On May 25th, 2011, thanks to the AGREEMENT reached between Dow AgroSciences and the Canadian federal government, it was concluded that …
● Pest control products are SCIENTIFICALLY-SAFE
● PESTICIDE BANS are IRREFUTABLY-INVALIDATED
On August 9th, 2011, the Government of Alberta STOPPED the trend toward PESTICIDE BANS.
The Government of Alberta stated that it WOULD NOT CREATE RESTRICTIONS OR LAWS THAT CONFLICT WITH THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, that is relied upon for health and safety assessments.
Consequently, the Government of Alberta indicated that it had NO INTENT TO PROHIBIT THE SALE OF ANY PEST CONTROL PRODUCT.
Alberta monitored PESTICIDE BANS over the past few years and the approaches taken by other jurisdictions, and found THE BASIS FOR ACTION CONFUSING AND INCONSISTENT.
On May 17th, 2012, British Columbia’s Special Committee on Cosmetic Pesticides announced that it WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PROHIBITION against the use of pest control products in the Urban Landscape.
On August 17th, 2011, a POLL conducted by Canadian Consumer Specialty Products Association ( CCSPA ) CONFIRMED that the VAST MAJORITY of residents in British Columbia OPPOSE PESTICIDE BANS, and they actually FAVOUR the continued use of these products around their homes and in public green spaces.
Ontario College of Family Physicians ( OCFP ) has MERCILESSLY TERRORIZED, BASELESSLY SMEARED, FALSELY ACCUSED, GROTESQUELY PUNISHED, INNOCENTLY CONVICTED, SHAMELESSLY PERSECUTED, and WRONGFULLY DEPRIVED those people working in the Professional Lawn Care Industry.
OCFP DESTROYED the Professional Lawn Care Industry.
PESTICIDE BANS were/are NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, MALICIOUS, and UNNECESSARY.
OCFP wants to BAN pest control products that are, in fact, HEALTH-CANADA-APPROVED, FEDERALLY-LEGAL, SCIENTIFICALLY-SAFE, PRACTICALLY-NON-TOXIC, and CAUSE NO HARM.
Demands are now being made to have CRIMINAL CHARGES LAID AGAINST OCFP FOR FRAUD AND CONSPIRACY, and legal experts say that THE EVIDENCE IS SUFFICIENT TO LEAD TO A SUCCESSFUL PROSECUTION !

Anti-Pesticide Terrorism NEVER Ends !
The Ontario PESTICIDE BAN led to HORRENDOUS AND CATASTROPHIC CARNAGE.
LOSS OF REVENUES, BUSINESS FAILURES, BANKRUPTCY, and UNEMPLOYMENT.
Because of the Ontario PESTICIDE BAN, Professional Lawn Care businesses were forced to TERMINATE many or most of their employees.
The Ontario Professional Lawn Care Industry LOST OVER 500,000,000 DOLLARS, with UP TO 12,500 UNEMPLOYED.
The DEVASTATION of the Professional Lawn Care Industry was EXTENSIVE because there were NO valid economical alternatives to replace the prohibited products.
Consequently, Professional Lawn Care Companies were INCAPABLE of providing adequate weed and insect control, and were UNABLE to keep their customers satisfied.
The Ontario PESTICIDE BAN inflicted TERROR, DESPAIR, and DESTITUTION on THOUSANDS of hapless victims throughout the Professional Lawn Care Industry.
The Ontario PESTICIDE BAN DESTROYED the Modern Professional Lawn Care Industry.
And because of the Ontario PESTICIDE BAN, greens spaces became WEED-INFESTED and INSECT-DESTROYED GARBAGE DUMPS.
The BAN was NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS.
The Ontario PESTICIDE BAN was UNNECCESSARY since pest control products are HEALTH-CANADA-APPROVED, FEDERALLY-LEGAL, SCIENTIFICALLY-SAFE, and PRACTICALLY-NON-TOXIC.

STRIKING BACK Against Anti-Pesticide Terrorists
Everyone in the Green Space Industry ― no matter where they live ― must meet with their Member of Provincial Parliament ( MPP ), regardless of party affiliation.
In order to meet and inform the MPP, you must donate the maximum amount to the party, which is 1,240 dollars in Ontario.
The cost of this donation is insignificant when compared to the catastrophic business losses inflicted by anti-pesticide prohibition.
Any business owner in the Green Space Industry who does not bother to meet with the local MPP is a pitiful fool and an idiot, and does not deserve a career, or a business, or any success.
COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN.
Anti-Pesticide Terrorists are NOT CREDIBLE SOURCES OF INFORMATION upon which political decisions are made ― they LIE and LIE and LIE.
There is NO RECOURSE but OFFICIAL COMPLAINTS as well as LITIGATION against Anti-Pesticide Terrorists.
They DO NOT DESERVE ANY DONATIONS OR SUPPORT.
They DO NOT DESERVE ANY GOVERNMENT GRANTS.
Nor do they deserve TAX-EXEMPT STATUSES.
They DO deserve to FACE THE SPOTLIGHT OF SCRUTINY and THE TERROR OF THE COURTS !
Anti-Pesticide Terrorists in organizations like Canadian Cancer Society are presently UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR CHARITY FRAUD AND CONSPIRACY.
The Government of Canada DOES NOT want its society to continue living in the 9|11 Era of Anti-Pesticide Enviro-Lunatic Profit-Hungry Terrorism !
And neither should anyone in the Green Space Industry.
All names, statements, activities, and affiliations have been ARCHIVED for anyone wishing to lodge an OFFICIAL COMPLAINT or lay CRIMINAL CHARGES against Anti-Pesticide Terrorists.
On The Pesticide Truths Web-Site, NORAHG manages a VAST ARCHIVE of REPORTS, MEDIA REFERENCES, AUDIO CLIPS, and VIDEOS on ALL Anti-Pesticide Terrorists.
We know who they are, and where they are hiding, and what they have said and done.
When CRIMINAL CHARGES FOR FRAUD AND CONSPIRACY ARE LAID, legal experts say that the NORAHG ARCHIVE is sufficient to lead to a SUCCESSFUL PROSECUTION against Anti-Pesticide Terrorists !
Business owners in the Green Space Industry should talk to their lawyers, members of the legislative assembly, and local media outlets.
Thanks to The Pesticide Truths Web-Site, they have all the DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE that they need.
LET THESE TERRORISTS FACE THE SPOTLIGHT OF SCRUTINY and THE TERROR OF THE COURTS !
Anti-Pesticide Terrorists are GOVERNMENT-FINANCED with TAX-FREE MONEY ― they must not be allowed this money to defend themselves in court.
Demand a REVOCATION of their organizations’ REGISTERED CHARITY TAX-EXEMPT STATUS !
