A man who was using a WEED-BURNING FLAME-THROWER to go after weeds at his home in the Fisher’s Landing East neighbourhood caused 75,000 DOLLARS in damage after FLAMES SPREAD TO AN ARBORVITAE TREE AND UP INTO THE ATTIC, and later, INTO THE ROOF.
Once the fire was reported, fire-fighters arrived in just more than five minutes.
The fire spread into the attic and above the garage area of the home.
It later extended to the roof.
The house was HEAVILY DAMAGED, but much of its contents are salvageable.
No one was reported injured.
Flames also IGNITED THE HOME’S VINYL SIDING, so it took fire-fighters about forty minutes to bring it under control.
A former fire-fighter commented that the arborvitae IGNITED LIKE ROMAN CANDLES.
The Juniper bushes also caught fire quickly.

A man using a WEED-BURNING FLAME-THROWER in his yard SET FIRE TO BUSHES THAT SCORCHED THE SIDE OF A NEIGHBOUR’S HOME.
Police say neighbours used a garden hose until fire-fighters arrived.
Neighbours were also FORCED TO EVACUATE a feeble 92-year-old resident.
Fire-fighters removed siding from the home to make sure the fire had not spread into the wall.
Damage is estimated at 15,000 DOLLARS.
The 57-year-old man who was killing weeds was CITED FOR RECKLESS BURNING.

A Victoria Heritage House WENT UP IN FLAMES with a WEED-BURNING FLAME-THROWER.
The house was BADLY BURNED in a FIRE SPARKED BY A WEED-BURNING FLAME-THROWER.
Forced from their BURNED-OUT HOME, the residents stayed with relatives until they could find an apartment to rent while restoration crews repaired the damage to their home, a job took MONTHS.

In 2010, in the Town of Oldham, England, Government Officials accidentally set fire to a local carpet shop while using a WEED-BURNING FLAME-THROWER.
