Overview from an Independent Perspective
Newfoundland and Labrador Conspiracy To Prohibit Pest Control Products
Newfoundland ( and Labrador ) is a province of Canada on the country’s Atlantic coast.
This eastern-most Canadian province is comprised of two main regions ― the island of Newfoundland off the country’s eastern coast, and Labrador on the mainland to the north-west of the island.
The province is often referred to by the abbreviation « NL ».
The population is greater than 500,000, and the capital city is Saint John’s.
In 2011, Newfoundland and Labrador ARBITRARILY IMPOSED the NEEDLESS, SENSELESS, and MALICIOUS PROHIBITION against pest control products used by the Modern Professional Lawn Care Industry.
This Canadian Province operates like Hitler’s Nazi Germany, which includes a LUNATIC-INFORMANT-SERVICE and a small army of Anti-Pesticide Lunatics.
If these lunatics wore Swastikas, and lived in the 1930s and 1940s, they would be leading the Third Reich.
Just like the Nazis, Anti-Pesticide Lunatics receive guidance and instruction from the SUBVERSIVE and LUNATIC MASTER RACE, like Canadian-Cancer-Society and Coalition For Alternatives To Pesticides.
Hitler claimed that Jews were enemies of the Aryan race, and ARBITRARILY and FALSELY held them responsible for problems in Europe.
Similarly, these Anti-Pesticide Lunatics ARBITRARILY and FALSELY hold pest control products responsible for IMAGINARY PROBLEMS, despite the fact that they are HEALTH-CANADA-APPROVED and SCIENTIFICALLY-SAFE.
Just like the Nazis, these Anti-Pesticide Lunatics operate with INFORMANTS.
Through a LUNATIC-INFORMANT-SERVICE called THE PESTICIDE SPRAY ADVISORY.
These Anti-Pesticide Lunatics are using SOCIAL ENGINEERING ( i.e. Nazi Eugenics ) to IMPOSE LIFE-STYLE CHOICES, such as the PROHIBITION of pest control products in the Urban Landscape.
These Anti-Pesticide Terrorists CLAIM TO BE PROTECTING the CHILDREN and the ENVIRONMENT, when, in fact, they are not.
These lunatics TERRORIZE Modern Professional Lawn Care Companies.
Overview from an Independent Perspective
Anti-Pesticide and Environmental-Terrorist Organizations
In the list below, every single organization is infested with Anti-Pesticide Lunatics who have CONSPIRED TO PROHIBIT AGAINST PEST CONTROL PRODUCTS in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Many of the following organizations are mere small local garden or social clubs with cutesy titles.
Many are operated by unemployed or unemployable housewives.
Many have disappeared into obscurity once prohibition was legislated in the local community, or once grant and tax-payer money was no longer available.
Many organizations are operated by greedy and avaricious Anti-Pesticide Lunatics who have CONCOCTED all sorts of IMAGINARY DANGERS regarding pest control products, hoping to PROSPER from cash donations, illicit businesses, unqualified employment, and grants, quite often without paying a single penny in taxes.
If these organizations want to be involved with ANTI-PESTICIDE TERRORISM and PARTISAN POLITICS, then their CHARITY TAX-EXEMPT STATUS SHOULD BE REVOKED.

Lawn-Care Group OFFENDED By Minister’s Claim
Landscape Newfoundland and Labrador Trade Association says Hedderson’s comments are A SLAP IN THE FACE to industry and government.
The group, representing the provincial landscaping industry, is REACTING STRONGLY to comments made earlier this week by Tom Hedderson, the Anti-Pesticide Transportation and Works Minister, concerning THE REASONS THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT BANNED PROHIBITED AGAINST PEST CONTROL PRODUCTS USED IN THE URBAN LANDSCAPE.
According to Boyd Loveless, Chairman for Lawn-Care Professionals on Landscape Newfoundland and Labrador’s Board of Directors ―
It’s a SLAP IN THE FACE to people within the industry ― the professionals in the industry.
On August 8th, 2012, Hedderson said that PROHIBITION WAS NOT IMPLEMENTED IN 2012 FOR HEALTH REASONS.
Instead, he said it was because SPRAYING WAS OVERUSED IMPROPERLY and that ITS USE WAS GETTING OUT OF HAND. [ ?!?! ]
Loveless, who operates the company Nutri-Lawn out of Torbay, said lawn-care professionals receive training through the Department of Environment and Conservation, and are required to study materials and write an exam.
According to Boyd Loveless ―
They’re trained by ( Hedderson’s ) colleagues, so basically it’s a SLAP IN THE FACE to us and a slap in the face to them, because if the products weren’t banned for health reasons, why then was it banned ?
In early August 2012, the issue of pest control products became news over Tordon 101, a herbicide used along provincial highways to control vegetation in areas where brush cutting has taken place to improve visibility and reduce moose-vehicle collisions.
Tordon 101 contains the active ingredient 2,4-D ( 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid ), one of five pesticides BANNED for cosmetic use in the province.
Exceptions have been made for what government calls non-cosmetic use, including golf courses, agriculture and forestry use, and road and infrastructure maintenance.
Hedderson said he has nothing but the utmost respect for the professionals who have worked with such products in Newfoundland and Labrador, including those who currently apply Tordon 101 along the highways.
According to Minister Hefferson ―
As a minister, I’ve got a great level of comfort, because these same professionals work for my department in carrying out the spraying program, and I have all the faith in the world ( in ) what they are doing.
They know what they’re doing, they know how to do it and they’re doing it very successfully.
Hedderson went on to say that while the use of Tordon 101 along provincial highways helps make them safer for motorists, spraying lawns with pesticides such as 2,4-D is not something he considers to be a « necessary use » when the intention is to simply have « a nice looking lawn ». [ ?!?! ]
Clearly, Hedderson IS IMPOSING A LIFESTYLE CHOICE concerning the BEAUTIFICATION of the Urban Landscape.
Hedderson added if such a product is used incorrectly and manages to find its way into sensitive areas, such as bodies of water, that can have a negative impact.
Hedderson CONVENIENTLY FAILED TO ADMIT that the SAME RISKS CAN OCCUR with the use of Tordon 101 when it is applied along roadsides.
Karen Linfield, Manager of Pesticides Control with the Department of Environment and Conservation, said Tordon 101 has always been a commercial product and has never been made available to the public for residential use.
According to Linfield ―
When we allow these programs to be conducted, we only permit people who have WRITTEN AND PASSED AN EXAMINATION.
They’re CERTIFIED, and companies who have a certain level of responsibility — these companies have to carry a certain amount of INSURANCE, ( and ) they provide quite a number of pieces of information to us before we allow our program to be undertaken.
They are NO DIFFERENT than Professional Lawn Care companies.
Basically, Newfoundland’s GOVERNMENT POLICY FAVOURS COMMERCIAL/INDUSTRIAL APPLICATORS, but DISCRIMINATES AGAINST RESIDENTIAL APPLICATORS WHO USE THE SAME INGREDIENTS.
Newfoundland is DESPICABLE IN ITS OBVIOUS OBJECTIVE OF DESTROYING THE PROFESSIONAL LAWN CARE INDUSTRY BECAUSE OF ARBITRARY AND POLITICAL DECISION-MAKING BASED UPON POLICIZED SCIENCE.
According to Boyd Loveless, of Landscape Newfoundland and Labrador Trade Association, the decision to implement PROHIBITION was POLITICAL ―
We’ve got local politicians, provincial politicians, making decisions based on what — political science or real science ?
If the government’s concern was not health related, Loveless suggests it should have consulted with the industry, and taken an Integrated Pest Management approach whereby products would only be applied when necessary.
They should have consulted with the professionals that are trained to apply these products and follow the Health Canada regulations.
While Loveless said it is possible Hedderson may have only meant to target the improper application of pest control products by home-owners, he added if that was the case, the government should have simply removed the product from store shelves instead of issuing an OUTRIGHT BAN.
They’ve ATTACKED A SMALL INDUSTRY within Newfoundland and Labrador.
They’ve PUT EMPLOYEES’ LIVES IN JEOPARDY.
Personally, if I thought I was going to harm any one of my four children, I wouldn’t be using it.
Transportation Minister
Says Program Is Necessary
Anti-Pesticide Lunatics
Condemn It As Unsafe
Tordon 101 Is Scientifically Safe
Newfoundland and Labrador’s Minister of Transportation and Works says a controversial ROADSIDE HERBICIDE SPRAYING PROGRAM is necessary to keep highways safe, with Tordon 101, which is NO MORE DANGEROUS THAN SALT.
Tordon 101 is the most effective industrial vegetation management product that provides long term control of both brush and broad-leaved weeds in one application.
The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador is defending its spray program along roadsides to control vegetation, while sparking a RIDICULOUS DEBATE with Non-Expert Anti-Pesticide Lunatics.
According to Tom Hedderson, Minister of Transportation and Works ―
We do need to use it for our roadside simply because it’s the MOST EFFECTIVE right now, it’s the SAFEST, and it gives us the BEST RESULTS.
The bottom line is that I have people travelling on the highway now that are safer.
Hedderson said the spraying is vital to help prevent moose-vehicle collisions.
Hedderson has come under fire from lunatics for suggesting that the chemicals used in spraying programs are NO MORE DANGEROUS THAN SALT.
( See later segment for more information about TABLE SALT. )
New Democratic Party
But George Murphy, Anti-Pesticide Environment Critic with New Democratic Party, said Hedderson is somehow wrong, and the province should stop using Tordon 101. [ ?!?! ]
New Democratic Party operates as the POLITICAL SHIELD for Anti-Pesticide and Environmental-Terrorist Organizations.
One of the ingredients in Tordon 101 — called 2,4-D — was recently PROHIBITED for SO-CALLED COSMETIC USE in Newfoundland and Labrador.
But the government is still using the product for the control of roadside vegetation.
According to Non-Expert Anti-Pesticide Lunatic Murphy ―
This stuff is toxic. [ ?!?! ]
We really don't need it. [ ?!?! ]
Murphy suggested traditional methods — such as brush cutting along the sides of highways — should be used. [ ?!?! ]
Murphy has NO recognized expertise, training, or background, in matters concerning pest control products.
Consequently, Murphy’s opinion concerning pest control products is TOTALLY VALUELESS and UTTERLY WORTHLESS.
Ian Simpson
Another Anti-Pesticide Lunatic, Ian Simpson, expressed MOCK-OUTRAGE ―
I am horrified. I really am shocked. [ ?!?! ]
Simpson was also MOCK-PERPLEXED about Hedderson’s comments equating Tordon 101 to SALT.
Ian Simpson is merely a retired 75-year-old chronologically-gifted septuagenarian.
Simpson is a Non-Expert Enviro-Lunatic and member of Coalition for Alternatives to Pesticides ( a.k.a. NL Provincial Coalition on Pesticides, a.k.a. Concerned Citizens Group, and SHIELD for Canadian Cancer Society ).
It is a LITTLE club that functions as an Anti-Pesticide Terrorist-Organization.
Under the guise of being some kind of professional concerning pest control products, Simpson has written Letters to the Editor to express his TOTALLY VALUELESS AND UTTERLY WORTHLESS OPINION concerning pest control products.
Simpson has NO recognized expertise, training, or background, in matters concerning pest control products.
In fact, Simpson’s practical background is in MENOPAUSE.
He is a mere MENOPAUSE SPECIALIST.
Pest Control Products
Can Be Safely Used, and
Do Not Pose Undue
Risks To Humans
Or The Environment
The Wisdom of Lorne Hepworth
It’s ironic that the Newfoundland and Labrador Ministry of the Environment is quoted as saying ―
The Provincial Government accepts that the federal registration process ENSURES THAT SUCH PRODUCTS CAN BE USED WITHOUT CAUSING UNDUE HARM TO PEOPLE OR THE ENVIRONMENT.
Yet they IMPLEMENTED A BAN on some of these products in the province.
Health Canada has said for years exactly what the province stated in its media release ―
Pest control products can be safely used.
In fact, the five lawn pesticides banned by Newfoundland and Labrador have all been recently RE-ASSESSED by Health Canada using the most modern scientific information.
The conclusion was ―
Pest control products DO NOT POSE
UNDUE RISKS TO HUMANS OR
THE ENVIRONMENT when used properly.
In fact, readers should know that pesticides are one of the MOST STRINGENTLY REGULATED PRODUCTS in Canada, and only those products that meet Health Canada’s strict health and safety standards are registered for sale and use.
The reality is that it simply ISN’T LOGICAL for the province to ban these products from home-owners who rely on them to control pest infestations on their personal property while at the same time allowing its own staff to use them to control vegetation along roadways.
What would be logical is for the province to recognize Health Canada’s safety assessment that has proven these products CAN BE SAFELY USED.
The claims made by Dr. Ian Simpson in the article are yet another attempt to SCARE RESIDENTS INTO THINKING THEY’RE BETTER OFF WITHOUT HAVING ACCESS TO PESTICIDES.
In fact, these are valuable tools whose uses include protecting energy corridors, keeping swimming pools and drinking water safe, and providing us with a safe and abundant food supply.
The evidence is clear ― PEST CONTROL PRODUCTS CAN BE SAFELY USED, and Canadians should feel comfortable if they choose to use them.
Sincerely,
Dr. Lorne Hepworth.
President, CropLife Canada ― representing the plant science industry.
Dr. Hepworth is the nation’s MOST EFFECTIVE and CONSISTENT SPOKESMAN on the subject of public policy and pest control products. 2,4-D Toxicity
Three-way herbicide products like Killex Turf Herbicide, that contain 2,4-D, have a LOW TOXICITY, with Oral LD50 greater than 5000 mg per kg.
This LD50 value indicates that these products, even in their concentrated pre-diluted form, are safer than household items such as baking soda, caffeine, ethanol, and TABLE SALT.
In toxicology, the Median Lethal Dose, LD50 ( abbreviation for the « Lethal Dose, 50 per cent » ), is a value that represents the dose that is fatal for 50 per cent of an experimental group of laboratory animals, in most cases rats.
THE HIGHER THE LD50 VALUE, THE LEAST TOXIC THE PRODUCT.
The toxicity of 2,4-D is not very high when compared to TABLE SALT.
TABLE SALT would be lethal at 3000 milligrams per kilogram.
Pest control products than contain 2,4-D are LESS TOXIC THAN TABLE SALT.
Comparative Examples of Toxicity
Relatively Harmless ( LD50 15000 + )
29700 ― sucrose ( table sugar ), edible food additive
Practically Non-Toxic ( LD50 5000 – 15000 )
11900 ― ascorbic acid ( vitamin C ), edible nutrient
7060 ― ethyl alcohol ( ethanol ), edible beverage constituent
5000 + ― Killex Turf Herbicide ( 2,4-D, mecoprop, & dicamba ), conventional herbicide product for selective weed control in turf
Slightly Toxic ( LD50 500 – 5000 )
4220 ― sodium bicarbonate ( baking, soda ), household product
3000 ― sodium chloride ( table salt ), edible food additive
2598 ― Tordon 101 ( 2,4-D & picloram ), conventional herbicide product for non-selective roadside vegetation control
1994 ― acetaminophen ( Tylenol ), analgesic
Moderately Toxic ( LD50 50 – 500 )
200 ― acetylsalicylic acid ( Aspirin ), analgesic

PESTICIDE BANS LEAD TO CATASTROPHIC CARNAGE FOR BUSINESSES OPERATING IN THE PROFESSIONAL LAWN CARE INDUSTRY …
● Professional Lawn Care businesses DISAPPEAR INTO OBLIVION AT A RATE OF ONE-COMPANY-PER-WEEK.
● TENS OF THOUSANDS OF WORKERS in the Professional Lawn Care Industry are UNEMPLOYED.
● Lawns in entire neighborhoods ARE RUINED BY PESTS.
● DANDELIONS ARE THE DOMINANT GROUND cover that makes provinces like Ontario look like a GARBAGE DUMP.
● Pesticide-free lawn maintenance is STUNNINGLY EXPENSIVE and DOES NOT WORK.
CARNAGE CAUSED BY CATASTROPHIC ANTI-PESTICIDE PROHIBITION ( Web-Page )
Besides, PESTICIDE BANS ARE A FARCE.
Residents are obtaining products either from other provinces, or mostly from across the border in the United States.
It is NOT illegal to own or possess these products, only to apply them.
The MIS-USE of products remains ― thanks to PROHIBITION.
In Eastern Canada, no jurisdiction has EVER enforced PROHIBITION by going after residents.
