Municipal Prohibitions Are Failures In British Columbia ( BC ) !
In all cases, prohibitions against conventional pest control products used in the urban landscape have become DISMAL FAILURES that have led to CATASTROPHIC BUSINESS, ECOLOGICAL, & FINANCIAL CARNAGE !
Consequently, the government of British Columbia has refused to adopt any form of prohibition.
The government of British Columbia regulates what the sale, transport, storage, disposal and application of pest control products within the province, through the Integrated Pest Management Act ( IPMA ).
Nation-wide, the government of Canada is responsible for the rigorous scientific assessment of these products, through Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency ( PMRA ) and the Pest Control Products Act ( PCPA ).
At Pest Management Regulatory Agency, before a pest control products is allowed to be used or sold in Canada, it must undergo a rigorous scientific assessment process which provides reasonable certainty that NO harm will occur, including chronic effects such as cancer, when used according to label directions.
The government of British Columbia looks to the PMRA as the essential experts on pest control products.
The Province Of British
Columbia Has Refused
To Adopt Prohibition !
On May 17th, 2012, British Columbia’s Special Committee on Cosmetic Pesticides, after examining the scope of a possible prohibition, announced that it would NOT recommend prohibition against conventional pest control products used in the urban landscape.
The government of British Columbia accepted the recommendation of the Special Committee, and refused to adopt prohibition.
In essence, this government looks to Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency ( PMRA ) for determining the acceptable uses of pest control products.

Thanks to those jurisdictions that have joined the real trends against pesticide bans !
Despite the refusal by the province to adopt fanatical-prohibition, several cities, towns, and districts in British Columbia have nevertheless adopted their own arbitrary prohibition by-laws.
However, these municipalities have discovered that they are managing FAILED PROHIBITIONS because their by-laws are extremely biased, highly prejudicial, inconsistent, unfair, subversive, & destructive !
The reasons for PROHIBITION FAILURES will be explained in later reports.

Allegations from some of British Columbia’s pesticide-hating municipalities regarding the imaginary danger of pest control products are totally false, and are untrue mis-representations designed to alarm and enrage the public and to advance their agendas and ideologies.
In fact, these products are Health-Canada-approved, scientifically-safe, and will cause NO harm when used properly.
Why do municipal officials believe they have any expertise on the safety of pest control products, when, in fact, only Health Canada has the ESSENTIAL EXPERTISE ?!?!
And, Health Canada DOES NOT allow the use of unsafe products !
Overall, the risk assessment of conventional pest control products indicates that, when used properly, they are scientifically-safe, and, when used properly, will NOT cause harm to children, people, animals, or the environment.
The assessments from Health Canada, and other science-based national regulatory agencies, have clearly demonstrated that pest control products are LESS TOXIC THAN Aspirin, baking soda, caffeine, cannabis, nicotine, table salt, & Tylenol.
Additionally, these products are NO MORE TOXIC THAN ethanol ( an edible beverage constituent in beer, wine, and other intoxicating beverages ), mouthwash ( Listerine ), & Vitamin C.
In fact, these products will NOT cause irreversible damage even if consumed orally.
Moreover, the probable lethal dose for a person ingesting the concentrated form of many of these products is ONE LITRE, the volume of an entire milk carton.
By comparison, drinking SIX LITRES of water, a fluid that is seemingly harmless, can lead to water poisoning or dilutional hyponatremia, which is a potentially fatal disturbance in brain functions.
In essence, water is only SIX TIMES SAFER than many of these products.
The municipal prohibition of pest control products used in the urban landscape is NOT based on scientific evidence, but rather driven by agenda, ideology, propaganda, & fake-news.
British Columbia’s arbitrary municipal by-laws — prohibiting some products but not others, and to some uses but not others — will not stop the public from realizing that a large a quantity of deliberate mis-information is being spread by municipal officials.
These municipalities are NOT to be trusted, especially when it comes to keeping our children safe !
Children are safer when prohibition is NOT imposed and when conventional pest control products are used.
This is because it is IMPOSSIBLE to keep playing surfaces well-maintained, pest-free, & safe for children without conventional pest control products.
The presence of Dandelion Weeds & European Chafers Insects, and other invasive & destructive pests, are signs that our children are facing high risks of slipping & tripping & becoming seriously hurt.
With these high risks for our children, prohibition will continue to be a dismal failure for municipalities in British Columbia !
Children are NOT at risk from conventional pest control products, but they ARE at risk when playing surfaces degrade into unusable & unsafe conditions.
