Nutri-Lawn's Thom Bourne could not have made a better case for why area lawn care companies might befacing failure. If Ottawa does enact a restriction on non-essential use of pesticides, we will join the morethan 70 municipalities in Canada that have already done so.
Where was Mr. Bourne's business strategy? Why didn't he see this coming? Ottawa has been talking aboutthis for more than three years and Toronto and Montreal already have restrictions in place. Why didn't heand the other lawn care companies act on what was clearly a business opportunity to provide safe, environmentally friendly lawn care to their customers? Or branch out to provide a broader range ofgardening services?
Perhaps the mecoprop fumes have prevented him from thinking clearly.
